Heavy Putters
« on: April 23, 2013, 12:15:59 PM »
These are pretty legit I think...anyone else ever give them a shot?  Pervy John used mine the other day, said it was like cheating.

I tried it, and liked that the weight took my hands out of the equation.  Just gets challenging with dealing with various green speeds.

Heavy putters have never been for me. Just like belly or long putters, I struggle with the feel and distance control. Never could game any of these. But putting was never my weakness, so therīs no need to fix anything.

Yeah I could have gotten a 4 pack of custom putters for GF cost.

I like a lot of the JDM stuff but Gold's just doesn't do it for me on the putter front.  Wedges, on the other hand...yummy.

I see it a little different. I like their wedges too, VERY nice... but I would never put out that kind of cash for wedges, that I will hit out of bunkers with small stone in it, practice a lot, hit form all the shabby lies... They are my working horses and will look beat up after one season, plus need to be replaced after 2 or 3. Too beautiful and expensive to ruin them.

Putter on the other hand, it was very expensive, yes. But still half of a nice Tour Cameron (thatīs what my buddy got), plus it will look damn nice even in 20 years. Craftsmanship is top notch, feel incredible. Iīd buy it again.

I went through a heavy putter stage, but as others have said, variable green speeds killed the thrill. That being said, all my current putter have some degree of heft to them...just makes a smooth pendulum motion so much easier to execute.
