Mizuno Sure DD Single-Length Wedges
« on: December 30, 2020, 04:22:35 AM »
I just stumbled across the Mizuno Sure DD single-length wedges and was wondering whether anyone has tried them? - They remind me of the Cleveland Smart Sole, but the single-length approach sounds interesting.

I don't know anything about these specific Mizno wedges, but in terms of single length wedge set I can say that I did build wedge sets that way many times. Loft is THE most dominant factor for ball flight distance anyhow. With a single length wedge set you eliminate all other variables.
But sometimes, when the club head weight differs too much between the wedge heads, it is hard or impossible to match swing weights.

Stumbled across them in a Japanese online shop, not in person ;)

7-iron length or Wedge length (35.5)?  Im usually choking down on my wedges anyway for distance control so length is not very important but swingweight is.

Astute observation and very true.  The proclaimed benefit of single length in wedges is near non-existent due to choking down.

35.25" or 35", which accounts for the slightly shorter shafts that Mizuno uses in its JDM.
