Those who have done this, how much did you tip? 1 inch? I'm aware of the need for a shim.

Thanks

If you are unsure, you can always install it without tipping the shaft and cut it to 0.5“ longer than your normal playing length and grip a little lower. That way you can pull the shaft again and tip it 0.5“ if it feels too soft in the  section. If it performs well you just need to regrip .

Thanks guys . Its for a friend.  Found some Callaway tech article and they start with 0.5 inch so I guess that's what I'll do.

If only that bloody Dale would suggest likewise... that useless (insert expletive).... LOL.

I believe it actually depends on the shaft. Mitsubishi's website has tipping instructions I believe. I would generally say 0.5 inched tipping for a 3w. I have my 3w tipped 1 inch and it does feel firmer flexwise than my driver.

I had a elements chrome shaft untipped in my F8 and although it flew higher I lost Zero distance, possibly gained!
Also the feeling was better ..
That said if it was windy it was shit and ballooned !!
