Miura Tournament Blade vs MB001
« on: September 17, 2019, 06:22:30 AM »
Have the potential to get a good deal on a set of Miura Tournament Blades. I know these came before the MB001 and while the muscle design on the back looks slightly different, I would appreciate folks letting me know of any reason one would get the MB001 over the Tournament Blade

The main reason, if relevant to you, is the leading edge grind on the MB001; itíll help a bit if youíre a digger  Both are great and you canít go wrong with the TB, IMO.

Thanks for the reply. I am a super intendants dream, very much a picker so no issue there.

I saw the muscle on the back and thatís what I see Mizuno did with the MP20. Different weight distribution to help with forgiveness

Regarding the MB001 vs the TB, since both have similar sole thickness and overall length, I think the MB001 shape brings the center of gravity toward the heel and a bit higher.  I canít recall the relative hosel lengths, but I think theyíre similar, too.  Iím not so sure all that equates to forgiveness.   Regarding Mizuno, they seem to change muscle shapes every two years to justify a new model.  I think youíd find little difference playing the TB vs MB001.  Both are excellent, but Iíd choose the BB if it were an option (those are my gamers).  Having said that, the MB001 is one of the most beautiful blades from address ever, IMO.
