TRPX Xanadu review
« on: July 10, 2019, 10:54:43 PM »
Second session at the range today, we have a winner..this combo is real good, problems look to be cured...pro was there with track man so got some numbers, def lower spin, 25-2600 range which is low for me...hitting nice tight 12.5* of launch lasers...I love the feel of this combo.  The 155 is poppy, kinda muted and the Xanadu tightens things up.  It feels light, have no specs on it but not whippy...nice and resilient...will see how she goes on course this weekend...

Really solid driving today...was consistently hitting it 250-260....Xanadu definitely less spin than previous shafts but good mid launch...it feels a bit light but plenty resilient for my 95-100 mph swing.

Good stuff Free... If you like a slightly heavier Xanadu, you should try the COA California Angel in V flex as well.  90T too.

Hard to tell, really had my full swing working today and hit the Xanadu a bit to high...when I was swinging well with the 153, the best shaft in that for me was the aftermarket diamana illima...the Xanadu is perfect for a smooth rip, even better for flicking it out there...today for some reason I kept nutting driver and it was only 250...into the wind my ball flight was too high and only getting 230 on solid shots...course was a bit soft though and it was firm and fast yesterday...will have to go through a few more paces with her...I may sell this club if I continue to improve my driver swing...itís a really sweet feeling, sounding combo...angle of attack has gone from -8 to -2 with 2 straight driver only lessons...Iím hitting it higher and straighter...

Art, whatís the weight on the Xanadu?

In hindsight I donít know how I could complain, I hit 14 fairways today...surprised because the Xanadu feels a titch light but was very consistent today, never more than an 8 yard draw or cut...

Thx art, yeah, this shaft is great, itís like I pressed the easy button on my tee shots, everything straight down the middle and 250...had one double cross and a block today but otherwise hit 18 of 21 fairways...the combo is not the longest Iíve played but it feels great and when I put a smooth swing on it...whala...

Take a look at this in V flex if you want slightly heavier.  Fantastic shaft too for when my swing is ok.  A tad heavier than I like but a really good shaft

Finally got mine installed.  Replaced a BangVoo which I really really like,  just would like a little higher launch with the EGG driver head.

Need another couple of rounds with it as I haven't been able to hit it at the driving range other than a few warm up swings. Played it on the back nine today. Feel is excellent but not yet convinced it's going to out perform the BangVoo.  More to come.... Playing the next three days....

Which bangvoo is it replacing? Premium or mavc?

Premium.  I put the BV in my  Ryoma "Premia" head which is an all time favorite of mine.

Trying to find something that can knockout my current gamer the LFD w/TRPX Ravie.  With the right launch I thought the Egg w/the Xanadu might have a chance.  Probably won't be giving the Ryoma/BV a shot at it for another week or two.

One thing that I have realized (finally) is that hitting, comparing drivers at the range simply doesn't work for me.
