Masters 2013
« on: April 13, 2013, 02:54:51 AM »
What do you think, guys... who did better than you expected? Who will win?

I´m amazed by the old guy Bernhard. 30th appearance at the Masters, only 4 shots behind after 2 rounds.

And I don´t know if I have seen worse luck than Tiger had yesterday on 15.
For those who haven´t seen it: he hit his pitch right at the flagstick, unfortunately really hit it, the ball bounced away and spun into the water... otherwise it would have been a gimme for birdie. He dropped a ball at the same spot, hit an almost identical pitch and tapped in for bogey. After that and the  3 putt on 18 he was a little po´ed. ;)

Jason Day does extremely well, if he can post a similar third round, he really has a chance.

It's all about the 14 yr old kid...still shaking my head over that penalty for slow play. Hoping it doesn't kill the kids tempo today and screwup his score.

I haven't had a chance to watch any of it yet but hope to over the weekend. I just can't get over the things these guys are capable of doing.

Scott is a good guy, glad he won. After last years British Open, he finally got it this time. You really have to wonder where Cabrera came from again... you never see this guy anywhere on the leaderboard, but Majors seem to be made for him.

Kaymer had a quite interesting round, shot a triple bogey and finished with 5 consecutive birdies.

Glad Scott finally won one!! But I do wonder how it would've played out if Tiger didn't hit that flagstick on Fri, costing him 3 or 4 shots. The w/e would've been a lot more interesting.

I really wish Jason Day followed through stronger. Don't know why but I really like the way that guy plays.

Yeah I don't have anything against Scott but the belly putter and ultra stiff posture kind of puts me off...Jason Day seems like a guy you could hang out with and have a couple beers.

... and I think that was part of what kept him from winning. He always seemed so cool in the final round, unaffected by the chance to win a Major. Scott looked MUCH more focused to me.

Yeah that's one of those things....If Day would have won everyone would be saying how relaxed, loose, and laid back he was, and Adam Scott was too tight, lol.  But if it's the other way, Day was too lackadaisical and Scott was more focused.  I knew Scott and Cabrera has gone into a playoff because I was at the golf course and when I turned my cart key in, it was on TV.

My plan was to watch it on DVR when I got home, but someone asked what was going on and I overheard.  So when I was watching it, Day seemed to really be hanging in there and I couldn't figure out where he was going to blow it and Scott/Cabrera were going to finish how they did.  So it was almost more exciting trying to guesstimate how they ended up in the playoff versus letting it play out naturally.
