Anyone played any of the recent Yamaha offerings?
« on: November 21, 2018, 10:14:42 AM »
Title says it all. Used to love their equipment maybe up until around 2012?
I just looked at their site and the tourmodel wedges actually look fine. But they are cast???? Anyone hit it?

Chris told me theyre all good so I bought a set of each. Ill be testing them at LACC this winter and will update you guys on my thoughts.

If anyone gets out this way Ive got a guest house behind my digs in Bel Air. Ill put you up and get you on LACC. Great track. Great people. Great food and drinks. Talent aint bad either. Unless youre one of those guys that hates rich unhappily married women looking to get down.

I have the RMX 116 56 SW which looks very similar to that RMX Tour, except one small chunk of cavity back, which probably makes no difference at all.  Satin finish, a little smaller than average.  So far, very good, but difficult to judge clubs in the late fall weather.  My 2011/2012 Yamaha 56 seemed to whisk through the short firm Bermuda ground as well as any, and this one does also.

Haven't played any of the recent ones but I just picked up a set of the 2014 Inpres Tour Model MB and absolutely love them. I'm coming from Srixon 945s. Any suggestions for the best Yamaha Tour CB? Going to get rid of my Miura CB57s 5-PW if anybody has anything to trade...

Thanks.

2008-2012 I believe were the best CBs but Stew is the expert here.

Love the looks of the 2012 tourmodel. That would be a set I still want to try one day.

2013 tour and non tour were blades, from 2014 onwards the name included/changed to RMX, and possibly made outside Japan......

Thanks. I thought the tour models were made in japan regardless of year?

Possibly but there's never been confirmation. I think that the tour model drivers from 2014 were also made outside of Japan but I can't confirm.
