A Challenger Finally?
« on: November 03, 2018, 04:04:03 AM »
The DAT55 face Proceed Ti UT 15 has been the longest serving club in any of my bags for as long as I can remember.  Not being able to hit fairway woods to save my life, the Proceed 15 with the excellent 90T Crime of Angel FW90 (yup, I've played fw shafts in UTs for a long time now) is the only alternative to a 3W for me.  I still have not found another JDM brand that offers a 15* UT.

So being a fan of PXG as well, I managed to get a used 0317 17* UT.  I've just installed the same COA FW90 shaft in the pxg set to 15.5* and with a white Cadero grip.  I tipped the Fw90 this time due to the shallower hosel of the PXG.  Despite playing at 1/8 shorter than the Proceed at 40 7/8, it plays one swing weight point more than the Proceed at D2.  The PXG is also a noticeably more compact head than the Proceed.

Let's hope despite being slightly shorter and 1/2 degree weaker than the Proceed,  the PXG can still be as long and forgiving as the Proceed.  Always good to have a backup.

Just got a 0311 54 wedge as well and the PXG Bat Attack putter is catching my eye too.... looks like I may be moving to a full PXG bag.

Nothing wrong with PXG... I hit everything a few years ago and I couldnít fault there performance, in fact there 3 wood was Stupid stupid long.... crushed my driver at the Time!

Guess itís just that they remind me of Ping so much

Hacker, pm me if you want to swap....Looking for a tprx u9 to go with the tprx RomaRo Ray UT set I'm getting built...

Art, I'm predicti g the PXG falls short of the proceed in overall performance/sound/feel....maybe I'm wrong but I just can't get on the PXG bandwagon....

My current pxgs.... I can never argue they feel the best but on performance.... as much of a jdm nut I am, hard to say the pxgs trail.

Just a short range session... a ting sounding head..

hit both off the tee and deck side by side with the Proceed.  Off the tee, carry edge to PXG.  Roll wise, edge to Proceed. Off the deck, edge to PXG.  Let's see what happens on course but I'm a real under cover ping PXG fan...

and the 0311 wedge.  Compact but chunky looking.  Thick top line..  but OMG... cover shredding. Will be getting the 50 and 60 to complete the set.
