Srixon 785 Driver and Irons
« on: October 18, 2018, 10:46:18 PM »
Ran into my friend Pro at the range today.   He is a Srixon staff Pro and just got the new 785 series clubs.    Though his specs are too much for me he let me hit them.
The driver now has composite crown.  The shape is slightly triangular but not bad.   Deep face with shallow back.   Biggest improvement was the sound.  They nailed the acoustics on this one. Reminded me of Titleist 913 series.  Metallic but not too tinny.   Very forgiving for itís size.

Irons looked pretty good.   Top line could be thinner but feel was really soft.  Possibly softer feeling than my Epons.  Srixon did a good job improving the lineup!!
Now if any of their PGA staff players would start using the driver.....

This driver is great. Been using it the last few rounds with a pro orange.

I might need to get one to try.
The sound is a s a very lively explosive sound that is not annoying. Ball seems to be very low spinning as well.
The shaft he had was an ATMOS Tour Spec Black in 6X... too much shaft for me but it was still quite smooth feeling.

Ian,  If you are testing out drivers now.   You should give these a look.

I've tried most of the new models ...  M3, Rogue, ST180, TS3, G400 LST

I honestly think the G400 LST and the Srixon Z785 are the best two out of the 2018 drivers.   Feel, sound, distance are all there.

I also plan to buy Z585 after testing both 785 and 585. Itís as forgiving as XXIO X but the feel and sound is much better. Clearing all drivers I donít use now

Iíve read somewhere that they completely redid their design on these new drivers and incorporated some of the XXIO technology.   Iím gonna go check out the 585 today. I might like it better than the 785 because it has a bonded hosel.
