A Spare Pair
« on: October 13, 2018, 04:45:19 AM »
Nothing new out there interests now and since no one has taken the good deal on the agrind, I thought I'd play around with the spares and matte with matte...

A-Grind 440 hand picked to 10* loft, matte crown with the excellent matte black TRPX Xanadu. A salvaged silver carbon ferrule serves as icing on the cake.  Playing to D2 at slightly over 45.5 with a Cadero grip.

Will take her out with the grind studio bag tomorrow to see how she goes at The Beast.  Hopefully the weather holds..

Materials and cost etc don't matter if it works, be it jdm or usdm. Could be the cheapest POS or 7D. As long as it works and you enjoy playing it, looking at it in your bag.

So there.

You put together some great builds Art, and this looks to be one of the best. Sexy and stealthy....hope it goes well.

I just recently switched to Shit On A Stick and to make things even worse, im playing one of those toilet plunger piece of crap shafts too ! ( Evenflow White ).  But I keep a few JDM drivers around because they sound better and feel better and look nicer too, but they are way behind in terms of distance.   I need every inch I can get, so ill keep going shit for now, but I am eyeing a Grandista RS D 9* with 7D shaft right now, just haven't pulled the trigger.

Real crappy golf weather this morning... damp, light drizzle, cloudy... hmm .. did i just describe the typical english day...

Played like crap so will need to test again but it seems this combo launches a tad high for me.  Low ballers should consider this combo.  Despite it being highish, there was still roll despite the wet fairways.  That's a good sign.

The reason people like the shit on a stick is they play shafts that are to stiff and heads that aren't forgiving enough...the usdm driver heads do perform and that even flow shaft is pretty good...I was hitting my friends callaway as far as my basi/155 combo...I can tell the difference though in feel....big difference...
