At Chambers Bay now!!
« on: September 30, 2018, 02:57:01 PM »
Gonna give it a go for a round of links golf here at Chambers Bay.  Cloudy skies may have showers.  Typical Pacific Northwest September weather.  Chambers is closing for the season after today to replace all greens with Poa grass.  Last day to experience Fescue greens out here.

More photos later after the round!!

Wow!!  The greens were so tough!!   3 putts galore!  Front 9 ,  7 over par.
Got rained on after 13th & lost track of rest of score.... barely made it to 18 before it got pitch dark.
One of the guys in our group who was a scratch player made a hole in one on No. 17 from 172yds.
His first ever ... at Chambers but we really didnít get to see it go in the hole as it was getting too dark!! :)    Anyway, changing the fescue greens to poa would be a good change.  Those fescue greens were bumpy like broccolli.  Almost unplayable.   The fairways were really fast & bunkers everywhere.  Having said that,  it was a really fun course!! Will go back after the renovation is complete.

Dry season is pretty much done for the year here in Western WA...  you guys in Japan are coming up to the best time of the year for the next month and a half.

sept has been torrential rain every weekend its like playing in a typhoon . last weekend was rediclulous!
hoping it finally has abated and we get to watch the post season baseball(go-go swallows!!!!)  and play some DRY golf
where I can utiliise  mjolnir and  strombreaker to get some distance at last, getting abit weary  hitting driver  then ute/4/5 iron in on half the par 4s!!!

have a cpl of new tracks  in the books this autumn that are simply , well , more like gardens  where hitting a ball is allowewd more than  a golf clourse .

wholl stop the rain ?

Dry season is pretty much done for the year here in Western WA...  you guys in Japan are coming up to the best time of the year for the next month and a half.

Finally going to Nagoya, Japan next week for 4 games of golf with the guys instead of shopping and eating with wife.  Been going to Japan for 40 some years and this is the first time golfing there.  Really looking forward to play in 2 new reciprocal clubs to my home club.  I would be playing one game each at Kasugai CC, Yokkaichi CC, Nanzan CC and Aichi CC.  Just hope Trami did not do too much damage to the area and good weather next week.  Still undecided which driver to bring.
GP 1 minute with Diamana DF
Katana Voltio III 13*
Ryoma 2U, 3U, 4U and 5U
Grindworks DP 6-AW with Fire Express Spirit I-65
Epon Tour Wedge 54 with MCI solid
Titleist Forged 58*
Yamada Burning Copper Shogun

Play well and eat good food!!  Nagoya is famous for Miso-katsu, Ten-musu, Tebasaki wings, Miso-Nikomi Udon...   watering my mouth as I type!!!
