Hmmm... Yes and  no.. Steel for both can be forged.  I think non cnc is pressed into shape with moulds.  I posted a mystery irons manufacturing video somewhere.

Cnc I think is a forged (or not) block of steel and the cnc machine basically just cuts away at it to the exact shape, design etc. No hand work but very precise.

In any case you need the forging process to get the necessary material properties regardless on how you do the final processing. With close die forging you get the work piece already into the necessary shape so no or not much cnc machining is necessary other than improve the tolerances. There might be some surface hardening after cnc maching but I’m not an expert in club head production.

Yes, metal factory uses kyoei forging. So does mystery.
