Progress BB4
« on: April 09, 2018, 03:00:45 AM »
Came across this while browsing. Looks very interesting and it looks good imo. Seems to be long and forgiving as well.

Ok...apart from the fact that it looks like a segment of  darth Vader breathing aparatus...love that word..if one simply thinks about it , anything with multiple crumple zones, must deliver  multiple zones of energy translation somewhere else other than  where it shud be delivered ,the impact zone....anyone wonder why the greatest ever Nike red driver both rors and tiger were doomed into selling never got used again????
Bec it was. A fallacy and An utter fkn  pice of marketing shite where did that 125moh swing speed go to want where it shud be  it got dissipated
Correct me if I'm wrong but if u place a crumple zone on anything.. the reason for it is to dissipate energy....
Why do u think we have tetrapods in Japan al over the coast?

This and every other crumple driver does the same thing

Fks up distance.

Here we go
I'm calling marketing fancy looking no performance

Utter POS

Looks good tho...!
Yes. I'm on the brarrrrn water. But seriously correct me if I'm wrong pls...

These have been all over the blogs the past month, i was going to post it up multiple times, but something about it just is not sitting right....

I think they are sold out till like June, or have not shipped yet or something along those lines.

It is on the expensive side at like 81,000yen or so head only.

Fully adjustable, loft, face angle etc.

Face is made from 6-2222 S α β Ti, Body: 8-111 Ti precision casting

I don’t know about the technology of the bellows. I guess it acts like a spring, which is opposite of Callaway’s Jailbreak tech. But any adjustable JDM driver has my interest. Speaking of which, I haven’t taken my PRGR RS-F Proto to the course yet, only the range.

My take on this "springy body"  construction vs "flex the face"  construction are really the same in terms of resulting performance.
Oh and let's not forget the 3rd option which is "don't flex anything on the club head  let the ball do all the work"  with Estivant.

At the end,  what makes up the initial ball speed is the Coefficient of Restitution.   If the COR is at or around .83 for these drivers,  it should produce the same initial ball velocity.

The wave structure they have here on the BB4 sole is not a new design.  It is in use by Mizuno,  so nothing new there.

PRGR RS-F is the one that I am most interested in trying.....  I mean a main stream manufacturer recalled their product because the COR was too high...
BTW, the COR being to high was actually not at the sweetspot but somewhere off center toward the toe is how I understood it.
I'm trying to get a hold of the pre-recall versions.  I like the Prototype color but I want to try the recalled version.

I also think the Estivant could be interesting since it tries to take away any flexing on the club head.

How fun would it be to have all the marketed technologies in one driver.
Carbon crown with a cnc milled twist face made out of DAT55G. Add jailbreak, a wave sole and some turbulators. Of course it has to sound and feel good as well so it has geocoustics. That would be the best driver ever. It would stare at the ball and send it 200 yards without even swinging at it. Once you put a half decent swing on it, I will go at least 500 yards and let’s not forget always down the middle.

And what of channels?  And then the flexible crown and sole of the maxima for supposed maximum rebound?

I think let's just go back to persimmon drivers and steel shafts.
