Love that, but what's the extra bit that can be seen on the pic of the face? Around the heel area. Looks like a bad photoshop job.....

Great photo showing the 'bulge'. One of the few jdm heads I'd look at buying over the next 12 months.
Love the look at at address.

Now shafted with the crime of Angel burning Angel low kick shaft with matching  black red cadero. Let's see how this combo goes.

So I had the Bangvoo MAVC 80, one of my favorite mid kick stiff tip shafts in the Proceed IX 9.5 what I found was this combo was a tad too low spin for me resulting in a lack of consistent drives even when I thought I struck it right.  That said, I did hit a few drives which were mega long by my standards and based on that, I felt I had to give this driver another shot based on this potential.

With that in mind I got the Crime of Angel Burning Angel shaft with the hope that its low kick more active tip would help with the low spinning nature of the IX.  Burning Angel is the lowest kicking shaft in the 50 plus gram segment from Crime of Angel and I must say, Im really impressed with all the Crime of Angel shafts I have bought so far.  All are light weight 50 plus gram driver shafts (and the FW is 60 plus gram) but the stability, predictability and consistency of these shafts very impressive.

So.. Im not going to go on about how I hit some of my longest drives with Burning IX combo (its seems Im doing so with my recent acquisitions like this and the grandista.. but I am! ☺) or how my drives are noticeably longer by my golfing buddies.  The Burnidng angel is a very smooth feeling shaft that is easy to load, consistent, good dispersion, and long!  And it best fits head and golfers that are maybe trying to get a tad more spin and launch. I needed that for the 9,5 low spinning IX.

But this is a nice reminder to myself that if a particular head demonstrates potential, its worth the coin to experiment and try different combos to really realize the potential.

I was thinking of the MAVC for the incoming Crazy 435 legend.  I dont recall that to be low launching or as low spinning as the IX.  I was thinking of the MAVC for that but given how Im such a fan boy of COA shafts now, Im gonna put the 90T California in her and see how she goes.  Hopefully the current tech and materials of the COA Cali will put back some of the magic into the 435 for me.

Nice review!   So true about trying different shafts in a head.  I've struggled to get a reasonable trajectory with my Modart head using my 7D shaft but finally found a peaceful solution by swapping out the shaft with a Diamana W.  Now the ball doesn't go super high like it used to.   The 7D shaft on the other hand has been migrated into a Romaro Type R and is serving me well again.  It just wasn't a good match with the Modart.   AAA '15 60 shaft on the other hand did not work out for me in any of my driver heads.   This is interesting because the AAA '15 70g that I previously used was as perfect of a shaft as it could be for me.  but a different weight class, a different animal all together I guess.

Yeah, I think most of my driver combos are optimized  now for my swing at this point... I have the 7d on my modart DS as well which I think still has some left to squeeze.  May try some kind of coa in it soon.

Crazy 435 should reach Monday or Tuesday... Rather eager to see how it performs with a current shaft.
