Refinish - BOS
« on: March 16, 2018, 09:07:38 AM »
Has anyone refinished a metal wood at BOS?  Thinking of getting one of my drivers into a matte black and another into a pearl white.

Can;t remember the name of the other shop that does fancy patterns.

Also, I think I read somewhere that the paint used affects head performance?  Snake oil?

Art,    I have used BOS for wedge refinish but not for woods.    They did a pretty good job with copper on a set of Titleist wedges but I recall they were quite expensive.

As for the fancy airbrush painting,   https://www.instagram.com/d.jays.art/       I had D Jay do a few heads a while back.
Custom airbrush painting adds about 2-3g on a driver head.    So if you're thinking "CG" location.   yes it could move the CG a bit.   not sure if 3g is noticeable though....
Also, you should know that he does  not do any refinishing type jobs and he typically only does driver heads.

I currently have a TM Spider putter being re-painted at Continental Golf.  It's almost done and they give GolfWRX members a discount.
I'm thinking about sending them 1-2 driver heads and another putter shortly.

Check out their work:

Around 150 to 200 depending on how complex the requested designs are.
I did the faux wood grain in black and I believe it was around 200.
