Low spinning titanium JDM FW?
« on: March 05, 2018, 02:37:35 PM »
Title says it all. Only club that I might be looking to change currently is the 3FW. Looking for a penetrating lower spinning titanium FW. Any suggestions? No big footprints like Ryoma.

Yes, like Stu says, the OG Egg Spoon is still probably one of the longest fw.  Like most people though, if it wasn't for the piercing, glass-shattering sonic boom off the face it might still be played by many.  It's the only club I feel really bad for other people around me if hitting it at the range.  Super shallow profile, so that may/may not suit your eye.

The Tourstage X-FW Type T (12.5* & 14*) 3 woods are really long as well.  A couple months back I believe Nob-san was really liking the Royal Collection SFD X7 Ti fws.

None of the PRGR, egg or otherwise is Ti though.  There are only a few Ti FW on the market if you rule out, Ryoma and Maruman. I believe Jbeam and some other more obscure name might have Ti FW.  I am using a Katana 13* Ti 2w but its 300cc.

The original Egg spoon is titanium if I remember correctly. I owned one and it was good but I cannot stand the sound it makes.

I've been looking at the Mizuno MP Metal Ti 160cc 3W.  Was used by several LPGA and Japan tour players.

The three seemingly popular so called "Monster Fairway woods"    are

 Muziik On the Screw DF
   Proceed R-Ti FW HT
   Kamui Pro TP-XF

They all have driver like cup face construction.     If you are looking for low spin,  you'd probably have better luck with one with a deeper face.
Shallow profile heads will naturally have more spin.

I'd have to say the Mizuno MP650 3 wood was the lowest spinning titanium I've ever used.  Also the tourstage x-fw type-T

Are you talking about the TP-XF that Nob-san was talking about? This one I am starting to like. Anybody played it and can share some insights?

I致e been struggling with FW痴 lately & not getting much distance separation between my 3HL and 19* hybrid. I知 3x more confident hitting my hybrid so now my 3HL is mostly for show. I may try the new Rogue FW.

I tried the rogue but it wasn't anything special for me on that day. Granted I was only hitting it indoors and I never feel quite comfortable indoors.
