As far as I understand, yes they are one piece forged S20C carbon steel.  They claim the milling of the pocket is new technology but I recall other one piece forged pocket cavity from other manufacturers in the past...

I read its supposed to be a new forging process. They are supposed to feel like a mb or 302, with a thin face and very forgiving because of the weights.

I look forward to trying them eventually.  I'm pretty happy with my combo 705/503 combo.

These r gonna be real good.  Epon feel is always good but I like the new direction they're taking.  The 155 and 705 are truly great performing heads and performance (distence at least) has never been they're thing.

The profile is very attractive, 503 was a very confidence inspiring mid sized head, 505 has less offset, thinner top line and slightly shorter heel to toe bit chunkier than the 503.

Everyone pans epon when the pics come out but every epon product I've purchased looks great in the flesh, you can see and feel the quality...

I've become accustomed to the distence, love hitting 180 yard iron shots...am thinking these will be a club shorter than the 705 but with less hot shots.

Tested the new 505 a couple of days ago at my fitter, these are a definite improvement over the 503.  Same level of distance and fogiveness while improved greatly on feel and consistency, which are the only two complaints that I had for the 503 (and the reasons why I replaced them with Epon Tour CB).

The one piece forged face on the 505 really does make a difference compared to the spring steel face on the 503.  Center hits have that Epon soft yet solid feel that I loved on my Tour CBs, while retaining the distance and forgiveness of the 503.  Look wise, they definitely look better in real life, I am tempted to get a set to complement my Tour CB for those times that call for easier golf.

Dale, u should get a set.  Bstnyc nailed it...for me, ever day is a day for easier golf.m

These aren't huge either so I think it'll be similar to 303 except longer and more forgiving....

We're going to start with Roddio i10 stiff.  If my gaps are 190,78,67,55,42,30,118, I've got a ton of flexibility with the setup...with only one hybrid in the bag, baffy/16.7*,driver I could carry 4 wedges or throw in the spoon and cleek...or could throw in the 24 ute as a fwy bunker specialty shot...

I知 considering these or the Limited Edition Miura CB1008 in 99.3% pure iron.
Leaning towards the Miura now as the 505 are bound to be too common. :)
Japanese shops are all sold out on the first batch.  They are in super high demand.

Nob, the CB1008 and the Epons are very likely to be night and day in terms of forgiveness no?

CB1008 are said to be the most forgiving for a 1000 series Miura.
But you are probably right.  505 would likely be more forgiving.  But may be not night and day difference.

Only 300 sets to be made worldwide.    As I am a sucker for limited edition models...  I might just have to go for it.
It's the same basic shape as the normal CB1008 but rounder toe profile, double cut sole and 1 deg stronger than the normal S25C model.
Supposedly the stronger loft is to compensate for the possible loss in distance from using 99.3 Pure Iron.  ( because it is so soft?  )
I currently play the MG S-01 99.3 wedges and absolutely love how they feel.  Though I do not feel the wedges lack any distance because of the softer material.

Wow, haven't seriously thought about acquiring a set of Miura for a while...these are amazing looking.  You guys are likely right that they would be night and day in forgiveness in comparison to the 505 but they look quite playable...at least as forgiving as the 302 I would imagine and 302 is a playable iron for anyone with a repeatable action.  They remind me a bit of those sheep stamped irons...forget the name...really spectacular looking irons and I'm sure they have that dense but soft Miura feel...they look very "thuddy"....

I could see mbbg n these with 505 as his backup...I could see any of us going that route for that matter...

I love the forgiveness and distence more than the perfect feel.  Tired of being in that 9/10 territory and with GI/SGI I'm a solid 6/7...those are two different levels...the difference is significant in terms of how much I enjoy the game...when my bad days are 82/83 that's still fun for me...if I shoot above 86 at a pretty solid course I just feel disgusted with myself...for crying out loud, I've been playing this silly game for over a decade..the last 7 years playing 100 rounds a year..at least...if I can't break 80 at least half the times I play I just can't consider myself a real golfer...yeah, I think one set of non pocket cavity forged cb's is enough for me, at least until or if I can play at a higher level more consistently....
