Graphite Design 9003x
« on: January 23, 2018, 11:45:18 AM »
I have one of these lying around that I haven’t shafted up yet. Somebody wants to buy it, but, given the cold weather, I won’t have a chance to test it meaningfully for awhile.  The plan was to put it in a small (sub-400cc), heavy (207g) head and play it at 44.5-45.0”.

Questions running through my head if you can weigh in:
1) The 9003x is the lighter brother of the P9003x, right?

2) What is the closest Mitsubishi shaft?  I usually do well with Mitsubishi white profile shafts.

3) If I can test it in one head, which of the following would mate best/worst?  Kasco E340, Miura MD390, Tourstage P02-6, S-Yard T.388.  Miura has basically no hosel, the Tourstage’s is the longest.  All have been weighted to 207g with yarn or polyfill.

Thanks for any thoughts.

1) The 9003x is the lighter brother of the P9003x, right?

>>Yes.  and now they have an even lighter M9003
>>I played the 9003 Stiff for a while.   Just a wonderful control shaft.

2) What is the closest Mitsubishi shaft?  I usually do well with Mitsubishi white profile shafts.

>> Probably the original Diamana Whiteboard.   I thought the 9003 was a bit more friendly.  Then again I only had a Stiff.
Stu can weigh in on the X flex.

>>My personal preference would be P02-6 or T.388 mostly from a feel perspective.
>>Don't know much about Kasco and the Miura is a bit too knuckle shaped for my liking.

9003x is  a slightl friendlier version. not a whole lot of feel  difference  but I think Theres a 5-7 gram  change.

diamana.. prob the blue in Xflex   for the 9003x   and the white for the   p9.
or the diamana X  model.. yes prob that.

heads, the kasco is a ripper for this...44-44.5  no worries. the   T .388   likewise  or a ryoma D1. that was my best driver for ages  til I stupidly sold I for no reason I can think of  now!

to be honest tho the best head ive had it in is the kasco  fd 12.8 .. in that   its irreplaceable . its only a few yards off a driver distance wise  and its MILES more consistent accuracy wise.
