Congrats H!
First HIO?
I have only 1 myself but 1 more than some, at least.
And I was fortunate to see my ball all the way.

Congrats on the ace, H!  I'm still looking forward to one on a course that doesn't include a windmill and an open-mouth clown face.

Thanks for jacking my woe is me thread to tell us how awesome you are H

So, now I'm jacking your woe was mbbg for a woe was free...no more awesome for me...played like a dog in the club championship...3rd from last place...hideous pair of 95s after practicing every day the week before and taking Friday off work for a practice round...in the second flight...thought I had something Saturday..decent round and got 3rd in the men's game so I set up a $50 Nassau for Sunday that I proceeded to lose 3 ways on my way to a 92...

I can't strike the ball consistently, chips and pitches are off...good ones 6 feet instead of 3 and average are 12 instead of 6.  Putts just aren't falling...not putting poorly but I used to have this feeling like f u, I'm getting up and down no matter what...just not doing it any more...hcap is now 12.7...and I can't really play to that...

WTF, miyagi-nobs arms are ropes isn't working...usual drills for putting and chipping not working...I'm at a loss...maybe I'm just a high capper who had a couple good runs...maybe it'll sort out...

As with most club championship comp, they do tend to set up the course and green tougher than normal.  At the same time, it must be anxiety of any comp and maybe a case of just over practice.  Easier said than done for us armchair expert.  Instead of practice time before a round, i would just sit around the 1st tee and smoke my cigar 30 minutes (a short Cohiba Siglo #1) before tee time to relax.

Lol, perhaps I should go back to your method duff...it didn't work for me before but maybe it would now.  Nah, gotta get back into the dirt, hit balls and practice every day...will give that a go...

The course is set up tough but everyone plays the same course.  Playing a ton is my method.  I fall into a groove.  Pattern is crap Friday, lesser crap Saturday, good Sunday, amazing bucket Sunday evening...Usually if I hit a bit and chip/putt a couple times during the week, play Friday, I'm good to go Saturday but no longer...maybe getting to old...I used to be a guy who could just get the ball in the hole, now I'm just a biyatusuch...need some action, playing for a vanity handicap or just for the fun of it isn't holding my interest...

Similar to what I've been seeing the last couple of months.
5 to 8 stroke improvement on the back.
Always happens when I start the round earlier in the morning.
Perhaps I am not a morning person...

I did exactly what I usually do before a round.  Hit maybe about 15 balls with short irons just to loosen up and smoke a short cigar to relax.  Play really well the first 9 with a 3 over 38 which is a record for me in recent memory.  After half a sandwich and a drink at the halfway house, proceed to shot a 15 over on the back.  What a farkin collapse that is.  I knew I shot low the front but did not count my score purposely fearing that might jinx it.  Well, this is such a farkin game for sure.

Haha...I give up...crazy week, back at college for a reunion last w/e, drunk to oblivion Thursday-Sunday...1 round, shot lights out...78 on a course that's no pushover (not close to being a monster though).

Member-Member (I like to call it schloong-schloong) is this weekend.  No practice, busy stressful workweek...meetings with mucketymucks...Both partner and I are pretty high for historical hcaps and the flights broke well for us...

I like the way this event is done at my club.  6 flights.  9 alt shot, 9 best ball, 9 modified alt shot and individual stroke play back 9 on Sunday, only total gross within your flight with 6 teams in the shoot out.

Not gonna get my hopes up but this reminds me of the year we won it...the first time I ever won anything in golf other than a Nassau and fell in love with tournament golf...

Looking forward to the grind!  Nothing to do at this point but grind baby!!!
