C, I now play 2 TM m1, the '16 and '17 version in 460cc. It's the best feeling and more forgiving that all the drivers I have so far.  At my age and ability, forgiving then so roll out is a great benefit.  I tried the Epic but The M1 still wins.  A good and reliable driver makes the game much more interesting.  I just don't see any need to continue experimentation.

Flavor of the month for me is a '17 TM M2 version 2 (K serial number) 10.5 with Fuji Pro 62S shaft @ 45", standard setting. So far not many wild misses for me, and long enough unless I catch it off the toe (then it is woefully short and right).

I hit the standard G400 9* lofted down 1 with standard Alta shaft today against my 8.5 M1 440. On my best hits they were the same but the Ping offered better performance on poorer strikes and less curvature of the ball. I was hitting them both between 13 and 15* launch with spin in the 2000-2300 range which is near optimal for my 150ish ball speed.

I will say the Ping sounds and feels really really good, the stock Alta shaft feels a little dead but it performs. Would like to try the tour 65 shaft.

Just seen a comparison between the 'G' and the 400 where the best numbers in every way were with the 'G'. The guy just preferred the look/sound/feel of the 400........interesting.

I think I'm gonna pick up the G400 standard tomorrow morning in 9* loft. Hit it a couple times now on the monitor at the shop and it is just a flat performer with excellent feel and sound

I haven't tried it yet. I was optimizing my numbers with the standard model and figured the fraction extra forgiveness couldn't hurt. I was going to pick one up this morning because we had an outing today, but ended up not getting it.

I did hit the SFT and it didn't feel right to me. Like I was just missing it every time even on centered shots.

As usual, I flirted with a new stick and then today I had my M1 on a string all day at the outing. We had a hell of a team and shot a -19 52 and won by 2 strokes!

Nice Matt!   I am on the fence too whether to buy or not.   I was considering replacing the Tour Issue Ping G20 (black IP)  head with a G400 head to pair with my  Fire Express BX70 shaft.     But I am hitting the fairways really consistently with the G20/F Ex combo that I am not so sure that I'd want to break her up.

Got to try the LSTEC 10deg adjusted down to 9.4 deg with the Tour65 shaft and compared numbers against my G20 / FEx combo on Trackman.
Was getting similar spin numbers at around 2600 rpm - 2400 rpm but G20 lagged by "5mph" on ball speed!!    Easily a 10+ yard gain with the G400.
Needless to say I went ahead and ordered one. ( they did not have an LSTEC in stock)
Decided not on the 9 deg standard head since I was getting a bit more strong draws with the standard head.

Nob, how is the launch on the LST? Interested in this one as well but not sure on what loft. Will eventually test it myself, just curious. I would tend to think this is very high launch?

9.5 turned out about right for me on the LST head.    9.5 on the standard was a bit higher launching.

So LST would be comparable loft per loft with many JDM heads (not Jbeam)  but the standard head is a tad higher than indicated loft is my opinion.

To get approximately 9.5 there are two ways.   Use the 8.5 head and adjust the loft 1 deg  or use the 10deg head and adjust loft to 9.4 deg.  ( ping's adjuster is -1, -0.6 , 0 , +0.6, +1.0 )
I opted for the latter since adjusting the loft up is said to close the face angle slightly.

OK.. looks like a No Go with the LSTec ...   Ping has some manufacturing defect with the LSTec Heads and they are back ordered til at least 9/18..
Something to do with the back weight or something.

Just gonna go with 9deg Standard.
