Ping G LS tec 9.5 setting neautral 9.5* GD mj6s
Vs.
Grandista LS 9.5 Trpx air stiff

Results are not surprising although I was shocked how superior
The ping is in distance and forgiveness compared to the grandista
The ping practically decimated the grandista rendering it chopped liver.
Easily being outdriven by 30 yards and always in the fairway. My misshits
Were low push fades but we're easily 14 yards behind a well struck drive.

The launch is almost the same as the grandista but was getting around 15-20
Yard rollout. Feel is not the best but shit the grandista feels awful compared to the ping so
It's acceptable in my book.

The g400 Normal model should have the sound and feel aspect solved. I can already
Tell it will be an amazing driver. Shot one of my lowest rounds in the hard course super super tight
Shot an 80 could have been a 77 easily if it weren't for my putting.

yes 30 yards if you factor roll and being in the fairway. i was able to hit some nice mid irons instead
of hybrids on the longer holes. my birdies were attributed to the well positioned drives.
When i get the chance i am going to do just that.

There is a video on youtube comparing the G400 LST with the last 2 LST models. While the G30 LST performed already quite well there were incremental increase in distance from generation to generation. Very nice video showing that PING really seemed to have improved the driver's performance with each of their newer model iterations. I'm thinking G400 (LST) or Epic (SZ) as my next driver to try. Haven't seen much from the JDM market lately that's gotten my interest as of late.

It sure is tempting but I can't get past the adjustability of the TM M1. Ultimately, I believe this gives the average golfer the best chance of getting everything they can out of their driver

Played with the ping again no doubt it's the most forgiving driver I've gamed
My next driver will be a ping! If the 435 Aaa doesn't work will put the shaft in the new ping g400 LSt head

I got to hit the standard G400 today at a local shop.
The sound is now fixed!!   Based on simulator numbers,  9deg standard setting gave me 255 carry  14.5 deg launch 2700 rpm backspin.
Ideal numbers they say....   Unfortunately they did not have an LST demo....  I do want to try a LST 10 deg w/ Tour 65 shaft.
It does seem that I was getting slightly higher swing speed with this new driver.   may be 2 or 3 mph.

The sound and feel improvement is good enough that I should go ahead and pre-order one ... but I'll wait until I can compare numbers head to head
with my MP Craft / 7D combo in a couple of weeks.

Fairway and Hybrids were very similar to the G FW and Hybrid which I game now.
Not sure if they are worth the upgrade ..

Nobsan thanks for this. Seems like the perfect driver now that sounds been fixed

The new Alta shaft was not bad... Felt really smooth and all but I just didn't like it because of the 45.75" stock length.
That new color changing paint was really cool.    I really hope other shaft manufacturers use this new paint.
Looks almost black at address but copper color when seen from the side.
My numbers were with the older Tour 65 Stiff shaft since they did not have the new Tour shaft either.

I try not to go all in on the hype for most product releases. I waited a while when the M series drivers came out before picking them up. I was skeptical of the Epic and still don't have one (had a chance last week but wasn't fast enough to pay). G400 is getting some mid-year hype but I'm in no hurry. Still testing out the '17 M2 v2 head I picked up cheap a month ago...

Was in the range today and tried the older g30 with tour 65 shaft
Was getting higher launch and overall greater distance than the LS-G 9*
The loft was 10.5. Super easy! May have to consider the normal G400 as well

Not sure about the G400 but the MOI on the G and G30 were both higher for the normal models.   Both LSTec has slightly less MOI,  thus slightly less forgiving.    I also think lower spin can cause inconsistent ball flight as well.   My ideal spin is around 2700 rpm which I get with the standard models.

at my level and playing ability i want the easiest most user friendly driver i can get my hands on.
i don't mind losing a few yards of roll out. id like to try the SFtec as well as i play a natural fade and most
open faced drivers are disasters for me.
