705 review

Hit these for the first time today.  Played dye's valley course at tpc sawgrass.  These are all I dreamed they would be and more.

When I first took a good look at them my first though was PRGR idbl's...just a touch bigger.  Look more compact, more bulbous than the 703, appear shorter heel to toe and a pinch less offset it appears.  He leading and trailing edge relief is very appearent.

Turf interaction is much improved over the 703.  Dye's valley has some serious rough.  It's rained for 2 weeks straight and the courses are lush down here.

Feel is crisp, for epon, reminds me of the 503.

These have the bangvoo premium stiff, soft stepped once.  Ball flight is just sublime.  Very controllable, plenty of spin.  About the same distence as the 703.  Ball stops better but that could have been the soft greens, new grooves and bangvoo vs the attas10s shafts...I notice my wedges spin significantly more than other graphites with the muziik shafts.

Trajectory was really tight.  Strong launch.  Love the crunchy bangvoo...

Sound is good, soft.

Thank you for the review.
How does 705 compare to the 503? (Apart from feel)

Very similar all around, including feel.  705 is longer (about 1/2 club for me).  503 I found plenty forgiving though, very easy to control the head, 705 is bigger and slightly higher launching but performs similarly.  I have an easier time cutting the 503 than I do the 705 but I can work the 705 a little bit, just small draws or fades...fade is a challenge to hit with the 705 but easier than the 703 it seems.  What surprised me is the 705 feels more like the 503 than the 703 IMO.

It's official, need to update my signature, 705/muziik bangvoo are my gamers.

The 705 A wedge is my favorite toy, I'm hitting these lowish skippers with spin that are snuggling up to the hole with it.  So easy to control and so forgiving.  Even with heel or toe contact they hold their line.

Thanks Dale.

Second round w these.  Distence control is very good.  Hit a couple pure shots and they weren't too long...really liking these a lot!

Some more time with these, thoughts are generally still the same.  Took them for a qualifier round for my club's team event against the other "semi"-private clubs in my area and shot one of my lowest event rounds ever (net 67)...key to the round were 4 lasers I hit to within 4 feet.

After some time with them I think the 703s might be a touch longer.  I think the reason these are as long as my 703s is the lighter shaft.  The 703s are also slightly more forgiving IMO.  All that said, the differences are not significant and I consider the 705s an upgrade due to the better control/stopping power, better turf interaction and better consistency.

Like the 703 they play bigger than they look but I haven't had any shots that rocketed a club longer than normal.  This wasn't a big problem with the 703 but I have had this happen the other sgi clubs like the romaro alpha.

The feel is a touch crisper than 703 and not quite as forgiving on heelish contact which happens when I'm over the top.

You think these are legit 7 series platform or somewhere in the
6 series category? Epon loves overlapping platforms and creating
New segments without the actual hierarchy categories.

The 703s are a current line up although the aw is fully sold out.
I think it will remain current while stocks lasts.
The 705s are heavily back ordered and next stock is September so I thintheg make
Runs of smaller batches to prevent over supply etc.

I feel comfortable giving this club a final say.  The head is so solid.  The best all around performance head I've ever had.  For an sgi it looks like a mid sized head.

It is as long as 703 bit easier to control.  I've just been hitting lasers with it.

My handicap has dropped from 9 to 7 and the biggest factor has been hitting laser accurate shots with my 705s.

They just flat perform out of the chewy Bermuda rough (it's been hot and wet down here)...

Feedback is pretty good for what they are.  They feel somewhere between the 503 and 703.

I love them.  These are great irons, especially with the muziik shafts.  Recommend you reserve yours from the next run...

Yeah, I think that's dead on, the first 6 series...they remind me quite a bit of the P3 only that was a 4 series.

Very interested to see what they do with the next 5 series iron as well as the P4...epon just keeps on rocking it IMO.

Check g back on on these.  Still my all around all time favs with these shafts.  My buddy bought my 703/attas combo...(funny, I've given old sets now for 4 of my buddies to try, they come back after 1 week and ask how much, scoff, "that's how much a brand new custom fit set costs"...try me another week, next week I get a check)...anyway...still loving these!

C nailed it, they are a true 6 series.  Just such great performers, new life in my iron game, it's fun to hit golf shots again...I've averaged 1.5 birdies a round since I got them...I went months without a birdie last year...course putting has been much better since I got used to the short...that belly putter was holding me back.

Actually liking the feel, some feedback (can't compare w 302) but with these shafts they're so crunchy!  Crunchy feeling lasers...

i am yet to shaft mine. been staring at my heads just waiting for the push to move to these.
my 703s are perfect as is but my wife wants my 703s so will build her a set with MCI 50.
i was originally going to use graphites for these but i am so in love with my modus 105
so may just continue to play them til i get sick of them.

new set is going to be comprised of 7-aw with the option of 6iron down the road. defintely
not going to game a 5 anymore as the counterpart loft in ute is just so easy for me.
