Though the overall shape is nearly identical to the 153,  looks like they are using different material for face and body.    Will be interesting to hear their performance claim.

I'm thinking it's gonna be a mix of 105 face with the 153 body...LONG, high launch baby draws...can't figure out the shaft nobsy...my clubhead speed is consistently mid 90s...can get it up in the high 90s but rarely play with that swing...my angle of attack averages a negative 3.8*.  I need launch.  I like a shaft that's easy to load but stable, more rubbery than glassy feel but not fixated on rubbery...

I'm getting 12/13* loft with my 904/bootoobee sh at 46" fin length.  I get a ton of roll unless the fwys are wet like they've been but for reference a 240 yard drive at sea level is slightly better than average for me...Would like to lake the launch angle up to 14/15 and put it out there 250 on average this year...what do you think?

Roddio shafts seem to be what you are looking for. At least the older generations. Don't really know how the newer ones play.

There are tons of different shaft options with JDM boutique line up, but why not try a Bangvoo driver shaft in your new head?
As more shafts utilize high modulus CF,  I think the trend in feel is that they are more glassy feeling.

I want to try the Roddio Amorphous Slim shaft.   Diamana Al'Islei used amorphous technology and I remember it being very very smooth feeling.
I think Steven in Dubai is using a Roddio Amorphous Slim with his GTD455 driver...  might be able to provide feedback on it.

Thx for the pics c...I've started to disregard epon pics over the years.  They are always better in the flesh but that head looks good, kinda reminds me of the 103 a little, doesn't look too big...

Nob-san, I tried the bangvoo driver shaft, it's in a '15 egg right now.  It's good, not as good as their iron shafts IMO bit good, nice and whippy...

Looking for something different, shac...I've been playing Roddio shafts for the past 5 years.  Like them a lot but just wanna go a different direction...going for a solid feel, densish...something in the 62-67 gram range that is not hard to load but not a noodle...was thinking about the '14/'15 Diamanna Illima.  Was a very good shaft for me in 3w, nice higher launch w/o the ballooning but still felt solid.  I just don't know any of these shafts coming out...have had a lot of experience with attas, Roddio, muziik, Fuji, Mitsubishi...would like to try a new shaft but needs to be high launch...

Fuji Speeder Evos are really good. EvoII is supposed to be the lowest launching of them. Speeder EvoIII could be right up your alley. I think it is supposed to be higher launching than the II.

I love the EvoII (driver shaft, can't comment on the FW shaft). But then again, I can launch anything.

155 and 155i released last Saturday in Japan.

here is what one club fitter had to say in his blog.

https://ameblo.jp/bestgear0072/entry-12326999203.html

1. Feel:
155 is a bit softer and ball feels like it sticks to the face a littler longer
155i feels hotter and springier off the face and feels a bit firmer

2. Sound:
155 sounds nice like past Epon drivers
155i is just a tad higher pitched sound ... but not bad at all.

3. Spin:
155 does not seem ultra low spin.  Produces high trajectory, easy to draw and very forgiving.
155i looks to be lower spin with a more boring forward moving/stronger trajectory.

Also mentioned is the fact that the body on these new heads are now made of cast 811 Ti ...
Apparently all past Epon had forged Ti body.  Very popular material among USDM drivers

Face Material is Forged 6-4 Ti on the normal AF-155   Forged  15-3-3-3 Ti on Hi-Cor AF-155

AF-155i has a Cast 811 Face and Body with Carbon Fiber crown.

As far as the reason behind 811 Ti cast body is that Forged Ti body, while producing superior feel, lacked the structural rigidity and weight distribution design flexibility that cast Ti body can provide.     Some claim that this new cast body + forged cup face construction is going to provide better distance performance.

AF-153 was a really good head that worked well for a lot of people.
If the 155 actually maintains 153's forgiveness, feel and sound  but adds a few more yards,  I think this is going to be a big hit once again.

I personally hoped that they incorporated the Hybrid face construction like the AF-105 but unfortunately they did not.
