I am new to all of this JDM stuff.  I mean, I have a collection of Miura putters, have owned multiple sets of Mizuno irons and woods and currently I am in the process of being fitted for a set of Miura Small (Baby) Blades.  I have been looking at JDM drivers and am really interested in the jBeam ZY-7.  As a newbie, I am just not sure.  I am a 2.6 index with a driver swing speed of 105-110.  Can anyone recommend some options?

Lower Index but very similar Swing Speed to me.

With that Power the ZY 7 would be a good Fit.

If your not part of the Solution , then your part of the Problem!!

Rest in Peace “Mi Amigo”

I think it depends on what you're used to playing. JBeam seems to be a love it or hate it type of brand and I'm personally one of those that just doesn't get on with their drivers. Don't get me wrong, they perform great and the quality is superb, but if you've been playing livelier feeing USDM drivers it is going to be a pretty big culture shock. I think they feel like a brick and the hosel/face transition is just awful.

Now, I've not hit the 7 and it's been said it feels better than most other JBeam drivers so take what I say with a big grain of salt.

One driver of the many JDM heads I have played that I think would be a VERY GOOD transitional driver for someone coming from US gear, it would be the 2015 ONOFF Labo 358. 460 with a great shape, lively feel and is very long and straight with the right shaft. I don't think an old original Ryoma V Spec is a bad choice either. Completely different technology than anything still on the market to this day, and it shows. Maybe not the longest head on the face of the earth, but it feels great IMO and is super consistent. And you could probably get both with a decent shaft for what a newish ZY-7 costs.
