Which Shaft?
« on: March 29, 2016, 03:16:01 PM »
I currently play the the Kurokage XT In both my driver and 3 wood, new driver head inbound so considering my options, stick with the shaft I love or tinker. My alternatives are the Graphite Design GP or the new Fuji Pro, both similar in spec to the KK, any thoughts. Not interested in 7D's, Loops, Crazy or similar exotica if you go off track.

Based on the KK XT60 x flex launch/spin and torque, I think these are close:

UST Mamiya Elements Earth 6F5.
PROFORCE VTS Silver 6X.
Fujikura Pro XLR8 61x.
Paderson Green KG860-D40 (would like to try this myself).
Kiyoshi Tour LTD 60x.
Kiyoshi BLK 65x.
Kiyoshi Devosion 6x.
Matrix REIGN MTX2-60tx.
Driver: jBEAM Glorious 10.5* + Motore VT 7.0x, 45.5", Superstroke.
HY: Fourteen UT716 1i/3i/5i + Thump h90x, 39"-42", Superstroke.
Irons: OnOff Forged 6i - PW + Accra Tour Ti Mesh, Superstroke.
Wedges: Epon Tour 51*/57* + Accra Tour Ti Mesh, Superstroke.
Putter: Rife Barbados, Garsen.

Ian dropping knowledge in this thread!

XT is a great shaft and if it suits you well it may be tough to beat. Closest I've played to it is Diamana W.

No experience with the alternative shafts you listed but Fuji has always worked well for me. GD I've never found one I liked.
TI Taylormade 16 M2 w/ TI Rogue 125 60TS
Ping G400 3 Wood w/UST Chrome
RomaRo Type R 18* w/Nunchuk .370
Srixon U45 22* Driving Iron w/ Aero i95
13 ONOFF Forged 5-P w/ Modus 125
Forged Vokey 52F/56K Modus 125 Wedge
Callaway PM 60*
Odyssey SaberTooth (cheater putter)

I'm using the KK XT 60X as well. Tough shaft to beat in terms of performance. Very low spin, great control and load shaft. Closest thing ever to the KK is Aldila Rouge. No pure JDM has come close to this KK yet.
Only shaft that might could be a customize 7D by having the performance of the KK and ease of use of the Tour AD MJ.
