Forgot I had the booklet.  I had initial hesitations when I saw the flex rating of 12.6 being equivalent to SX but the lower right hand table says its a S (what's going on right...). In any case, they all just numbers and most importantly is in my hands, the flex feels right.

Played with this again on a new course.  Extremely windy today by our standards.  This combo again is excellent for dispersion.  I think I missed 3 of 12 fairways used and 2 very playable (one was just a stupid swing).

Art, sorry for reviving an old thread.
I have just got a Seven Dreamers control shaft. I worry that it will be too stiff for me as I am leaning towards softer tip soft shafts. What is your and Noboru-sans opinion of the profile of these shafts (particularly the control version). I am undecided whether to try it, not try it and move it on or trade it for a distance shaft, which would be a long shot!

It's hard to say without knowing the specs of your shaft.  Refer to the owner booker spec page.

Also, whether too soft or firm for you is hard to say.... If you got fit for this, it should be ok.  If you got it used, then yes, it's a gamble.

If you got fit for it,  then it's designed for your swing.  It should be just right for you.
my shaft feels just right to me from a stiffness perspective.   

Based on a fitting session at 7D,  they designed my shaft to be tip stiff and low torque because that fits my swing the best.

I get very tight dispersion when I actually hit on the middle of face.   Honestly, because of the 46.75" length,  I am struggling a bit with consistency.   On the other hand,  I am consistenly getting 110 mph SS or higher without too much effort which translates to monster distances but again, only when I hit the middle of face.

Thinking about shortening it down to 46"  and also switching the head to a slightly lighter head.
that should bring down the swing weight from the crazy high D9 to a more managable D4 or D5:)

I always thought it would have been a lot of fun to have gone to Tokyo and had the fitting and gotten a shaft made just for me. But if we are being honest I probably would have sold it within 6 months anyways out of boredom. 😂

Maybe there could be a 7D reboot that combines custom shaft building with the old lady from Loop making them by hand then having the guys from TRPX or Crazy doing the naming and graphics. 🔥🔥🔥

The shafts intrigued me, for sure, but I’m afraid my persistent swing tinkering would yield it useless quicker than Matt could sell his. Probably not, but that’s what I tell myself halt any serious consideration.

Haha yeah I’ve changed my swing too, made a wholesale change over the course of time to get rid of my flip. I hit a lot of high spinny balls on misses when I started golfing. Eventually started hitting good solid shots and playing pretty decent golf. Got to a point I felt like I had the potential to break 80 about anywhere I played.

Instead of staying in this happy area I got too flat/inside-out and wasn’t able to launch the ball or put any spin on it and really struggled. Hitting low hooks and high blocks out of bounds are perhaps second fastest way to demoralize a golfer right behind shanks and slices.

Last summer I had a 9 hole league round where I lost seven balls off the tee and shot a 53. Maybe it was 55. That’s the worst I could ever remember shooting for nine. I had to quit the game for a month just to mentally reboot. Didn’t swing a club for a month and came back and quit thinking (other than “just hit the damn ball”) and managed to finish the season fairly strong.

 I wonder what my 7D shaft profiles would have looked like in 2010, 2015, and 2020. Or hell just the first half of 2020 and second half of 2020. 😂 Or perhaps a 7 Dreamers shaft made in 2020 would be more like 7 Nightmares 🤷🏻‍♂️
