The MBBG rent-a-club program would be willing to help if it didn't have an in-house need for it on said day!

Where you heading? Sorry if I missed it somewhere else.

They've been popping in and out of yaj but most seem to be commanding a premium.  It's hard for me to specifically recommend this club to people because it's such a 'tweener but I do think for some it could be very special.

Well I've played several rounds and hit the range quite a bit with this in the bag now.

Updated thoughts:

Carries about the same distance as my drivers.  Somewhat less roll. But definitely longer than any 3W I've ever had.

Great crisp feel and very strong ball flight for a ~13* club

For me, it's all or nothing off the deck. Haven't hit it too many times off the deck on the course, and I've hit a few very good shots, but the misses (more common) are low and right. Requires a controlled and precise strike from the fairway unless the ball is sitting up very nicely.

Because I have a couple of drivers that are working very well for me, I haven't pulled this club on the tee as much as I thought I might. But I've only played at my home course which isn't the tightest track in the world. Could definitely see it coming out more at other courses that require precision tee shots.

Picked up a Glorious 3W yesterday and whichever one I like better will stick around and the other will likely be up for sale.

" All in all I am VERY impressed with this club. The combo of shaft and club head seem to work very well and I am shocked how well it hangs with one of the longest drivers out there. One drawback as that this probably really isn't suitable for off the deck use as a FW wood unless it's a perfect lie and you're just wanting to advance the ball. I was able to make good contact but resulted in screaming line drives of 9-10* with spin around 2K that went about 240, the last 50 of that on the ground, lol.  "

I think I have ended up with your club MBBG a couple of weeks ago. You describe it spot on in your posts. It was worth trying and on my course it is useful to have something with a slightly shorter length, but low boring trajectory as a foil for my high-flying max carry driver. Definitely one that compliments rather than duplicates my primary driver. I can hit it off the deck, but it does stay low....and it is long !!

Since I would like to try an old Epon 202 FW in my bag, am not sure if I just want to stash this away....

Hey MBBG,

Know it is an old topic/club, but i am looking for a wood specifically for tee off on tight fairways. Notice u compared this to callaway deep. Would you be able to let me know which is more forgiving as i am thinking of getting the brassy or the callaway xr deep.

Cheers

I think if I were building a mini driver for use only off the tee I'd take this. Wasn't a really versatile club as you might imagine but I don't think you can go wrong with it if you aren't looking for off the deck versatility.

I have the M2 T3 in the bag right now, it's not as forgiving as the Brassy but is definitely better off the fairway. Always a compromise.

I've had the baldo brassy its alright. don't even bother from the fairway unless you put in a very very good smooth swing.
for the reasons you've mentioned i suggest a KASCO fd 12.8. much more forgiving for off the tee use.

I recently got a Ping Rapture fairway for my back up bag.   Loft is set to 12.5 and I only use this with tee shots.
I am only about 10 yards short of my normal driver.    Very forgiving and easier to keep the ball on the fairway compared to my driver.

Can anyone compare the Brassy to egg spoon?
Tested the egg spoon today with the ball teed up. Launches the ball really high maybe too high...
Distance wise big difference between those two?

How forgiving is the brassy (no plans for using it of the deck)

Its nothing like the egg spoon. Its like a mini driver with a relatively shallow face. Feels more solid and launches with more penetrating flight. Its a very unique club in my experience.

I thought it was going to be a great off the tee club for me and I could hit it off the deck but the shallower face wasnt a great fit for me off the tee with my steeper swing. I generally miss up and down the club face moreso than heel and toe

Thanks! These are exactly my worries with the Baldo ... will give it a try anyway. Lets see how it goes.
