Ben Hogan FTX Apex irons - anyone tried these?
« on: September 15, 2014, 08:44:02 AM »
Anyone ever game a set or at least tried them at a range? I do like the look of the combo set (blades from 8i up, cb from 7i down). Anyone try themn with a graphite shaft? I think these were made from 1999ish to maybe 2006ish?

Thanks.

I had a set (back in the days) with the graphite shafts in 4 (stiff).
Very soft feeling and quite easy to play. The shafts played a bit soft if I remember correctly

I have a set of the apex edge pros.  Very nice, not super soft buy very good feeling and decent forgiveness for what they are.  I forget who owned the hogan brand at that point but they were making nice stiff back then!

Hogan is the greatest golfer in the history of the game IMO.  Say what u want about jn, tw, bn or anyone else...part of why I like the hogan brand is the man himself, when he was running it, the commitment to quality was as good as it gets.
