First Thoughts - PRGR New egg i+ 3ut
« on: January 03, 2014, 09:16:15 AM »
Xmas break and New Year over, I decided to hit some balls at the range after a four week break. After topping the first 20 balls, I decided to get serious and break out the PRGR:

Looks:   Being a traditionalist, this thing is plain ugly, big face, with ashtray to rear.
Feel:      Not good, a bit harsh, metallic feel.
Shaft:    If the M43 (S) shaft is stiff, I would be very popular with women (by women, I mean my wife). The most limp stiff shaft I have ever used, but according to specs, it was made this way.
Result:   Pure heaven, the best UT, I have played, totally amazed. Everything works. Long high shots which seem to float and land to perfection.

As stated, this is a range session and I hope to take it on the course this weekend if it stops raining.

Tempted to change shaft but.....................

On course review to follow.

Far better than well, it's where the ball finishes that matters.

I had the Yamaha fitted with a thump shaft XS. The feel was excellent but it lacked the height which may be down to the shaft. Distance wise hard to say at night range session.
