Driver shaft for my wife's driver.
« on: June 21, 2013, 05:52:52 PM »
She's 5'8" 125 lb. kind of a lower ball hitter but swings pretty hard for a girl.

I am thinking a 55 WBQ S.

Might go good in a Maxima V.

Thoughts?

If she's athletic I think it might be slightly too high launch for her. My experience w/ the QFXWBQ 55 was wretched. Way too high and dispersion was ehh so so for me. A lot better options out there for less $$$ coin.

If your wife hits it pretty hard, Iīd go a different route than WBQ 55 ... that thing most definitely will be too soft.

Might need something a little more stout. At a minimum same flex heavier shaft. If she likes the weight than a stiffer shaft.

Shafts for a wife, stiff, balls, hit it hard.... All keywords to mess with one man's imagination.  :P But I guess we are still talking golf here.

It is very difficult to talk about golf equipment for a woman without a lot of double entendre.

That said, I'm a little embarrassed with myself for selling her short with a suggestion for an old man shaft apparently.

Ideally I can put things suited to me in her clubs and if they don't work out...well honey lets try it in mine. :)

You guys are over thinking.
I think te fex 55 is the perfect fit.
My dad is 65 and uses a fex 55 and still hits its 230-240

What would u make her use a crazy sx? NO comment

Youl be surprised what the best LPGA pros play. Most of them play 60gram shafts not more.

A lot of the elite Korean LPGA players pimp nspro v90 iron shafts. And most popular shaft is the tour ad

Can't go wrong with the 55fex. My wife is 5.7 126lbs badminton champion. Her 7 iron goes 140 ad broke 90 her first month in golf.

I made her try fex 55, tour ad w60, aldila 55. She dint know what she was hitting but the fex had the best flight roll and ease of use.

Do note that the weight is not such a factor compared to flex as lady's tend to be better at tempo and rythm than us brutes!

U want ur wife to divorce go get her a crazy 435 with sigma 50 shaft

Hey don't shoot the messenger. Just going on what I've heard. The RD shafts are very light and supposed to play a flex softer than stated, so if Matt is after a FEX 55 in 'S' then an RD in 'SX' won't be far off!
