For like the 4th time bought a T.388. I’d been thinking about doing a short driver build anyways and I stumbled across a T.388 built to 43.75” with a Fubuki AX 75S shaft in it swing weighted to D4.
I hit 3 wood great off the tee but really struggle with driver. The club where I’m a member is really penal when fairways are missed but we have some long holes too that still require decent accuracy where three wood just doesn’t provide enough distance. Several of the par 4s are over 400 yards and if it’s into the wind three wood leaves a long second shot in.
I think part of the problem with driver for me is that it’s teed up high and I change my entire swing the a flat inside to outside and struggle with directional accuracy. I always hit it solid I just don’t know if it’s gonna be a 40 yard block, left going left, or a straight bomb whereas everything else I hit well is down near the ground with a more upright swing.
I wonder if the shorter length combined with the smaller head being able to let me tee it low will help with my consistency? Time will tell.
