Title: Epon AF-105 Driver - What shafts work well?
Post by: 03trdblack on December 12, 2017, 09:14:01 AM
I know shafts are going to react differently for each person but given the characteristics of the Epon AF-105 driver, what type of shafts tend to work well with this head?  Is it a lower spin head that would work well with a high launch type of shaft or is it a little higher spinning head that needs a low launch/spin shaft to get the best results?

I think it launches slightly high to loft but is pretty low spinning. Very deep face. I had great luck with the Speeder Evo II in it.

I don’t think there’s really a “right” answer coming from a third party unfortunately. It’s not an extreme head on any performance characteristics so I don’t think you probably need to go too far one way or the other on the shaft. Something pretty middle of the road as far as profile goes should give solid results.

I felt 105 is very neutral biased with mid launch and low-mid spin characteristics.

Very well balanced head.

Had a 2013 Diamana X in mine. Not the longest driver ever but the straightest I've ever played.
