Title: Original 2010 Ryoma D1 weight port question
Post by: 03trdblack on October 19, 2017, 03:17:53 PM
Can someone tell me if the weight port in the back of the original 2010 Ryoma D1 can be removed or not?  I know they had weight screws in the later 2013 and 2016 Maxima versions but it looks like the screw in the original is made of plastic.  The star shaped screw hole looks very shallow as well.

Anyone every tried to remove the weight?

Didn't think the weight would be removable in the early models and not even sure it is removable now.  The back weight is supposed to be internal.  The screw is just for show.

The original Maxima has a removable weight screw. Not sure on any other model though.

I guess the only way to add weight would be through the hosel then.  I was hoping I'd have access through the weight port which would make it easier.

How much extra weight you need to put on the head?  The most you can add is a few more g to change the weight screw.  For anything 10 g or under, one could always consider lead tape.  I use occasionally a pre cut extra heavy lead tape from Japan at 5g each.
