Title: Tiger and balls...
Post by: Shacco on November 28, 2016, 02:00:37 AM
Seems as if Tiger is putting Bridgestone balls in his bag. Not sure if this because he feels it is the best for his game or he just got the best offer to game them, but interesting nevertheless.

Considering Bridgestone made the Nike balls, i guess they were closest to what he was playing previously

I played the b330s today.  It really is a faaAntastic ball.  One of the most controllable around the greens.  Negligibly longer than the prov1 or zstar (2-4 yards I estimate for me w driver)...it's very controllable on all shots. But really enjoyed darting a couple 5i's today...

The new chrome soft is my ball of choice though.  Slightly easier to compress and slightly better with the wedge...would launch to high for you big hitters bit for me it's a walk in the park...

I'm going to say the Chrome Soft is the Best all round Golf ball I've hit

Which one of the Chrome Soft balls?  Aren't there about 6 different variations?  I am REALLY liking the Snell "My Tour Ball".

The 2016 version

I thought there was a regular and a "+" and a "++" and a line and a star and so on. I honestly thought that there were several variations of the Chrome Soft.

There are like 6 or so variants on the retail ball. I played a sleeve of the X version but haven't played the retail chrome soft.

had a play off and putt-a-ton with both thee x-01z  and b330s recently
the b330 is WAY softer, sponges off the face , faster  roll faster expolosion.
The x-01z is a tighter harder outer shell that really  does like  to be hit, it seems to sy hit me harder for added results, the b330  doesn't seem to need that its a rally comfortable ball.
the b330 seems to spin more and  is  boticeably softer  esp  when its cold  or the greens hard it still has quite  some zip, a lot  more noticeable than the x-01 and the cover seems to have that sticky plastic/rubber niceness to it.
ill stick to the x-01 in the warmer  or wetter months but have NO probs using the 330s on other days.
distance was  pretty  spot on ,basically I cidnt tell one from the other over the day or it wasn't relevant, it was the feel that was the  big difference, the b330 feels like an  EPON 7 iron while the x-01 feels like a crazy Mb...............

think  ENDO vs KYOEI.
 is there a better  ?

not really  IMO , its just preference on the day.

will bag both going fwd.

Have never hit those tour stage balls...b330s is real good, they're all good really.  Somebody mentioned the snell my tour ball..,that's a real good ball.  I loved the chrome soft when it came out but now there's other balls like the AVX, Volvik that are even longer for the hacks then the chrome soft and better around the green.
