After some fine tuning this is my current bag. Nothing fancy - kept it simple with some good old jdm clubs.
D: Epon AF-152 (10.5) Motore Speeder VC6.2 (44.75"): keeping it on the fairway simply makes more fun...
FW: --- (they hate me/I hate them)
UT: onoff type-s 2013 (21/24) NS Pro 850: sets up like an iron - plays like an iron - launches not too high. For me the best ut I tried so far.
I: onoff forged 2011 (5-P) NS Pro 950: guess no further comment needed
P: onoff labospec CB-247W (48/52/58) NS Pro 950: already posted in another wedge thread. Perfect balance.
P: SC Futura X5 (33"). Keep getting good results with it.
Bag: onoff. Like the understated look with black on black logo stiching.
Size is compact but you still get a lot of stuff in it.

Pic of the bag

Nice looking setup there.. Well done.

Beautiful clubs! I always liked OnOff and am in the process of shafting up some Kuros. My friend is bringing back the heads from Dallas this weekend, but at the moment no one knows where his suitcases or golf bag is !!
I had an orange OnOff bag and it didn't last very long. It faded in the sun and eventually came apart when the storage room at the pro shop was flooded and got soaked. But I love the look of your black one and am sure that will look awesome for a long time....
-
Great set up.
-
Not to dissimilar to my Bag....
Very nice Clubs
-
Spectacular! It's bags like that which gives me hope for mankind!
-
Thanks for the nice comments
@ Staxxx:
Forget about your friends suitcase tell the airline to concentrate their efforts on the more precious bag (of course unless the heads are in his suitcase...)

Some updates in my bag. Used to play regular flex and needed to change to stiff
Driver: My beloved Epon driver got damaged :( Needed a fast replacement and in a shop I saw this G25 for a real bargain with a spec which fit my needs: Fubuki alpha 60 44.75” shaft. Some Ping nostalgia played also part. Looking for a long term JDM solution but I somewhat like the current black / monochrome tone with the top of the bag…
(FW): Well with its head size the Ryoma Utility looks the part ;D TRPX UT7 shaft – it goes really long.
UT: just changed the shaft to match the irons NS Pro 950. Every time I'm thinking to change to some other model or brand I have a round where it safes the day. Simply my most trustworthy club.
5i-PW: with flex changed also the whole set to 2013 forged heads
Wedges: tried out the onoff forged wedge but I’m back to the Labospec’s
-
Sweet setup sanader! How's that 18* ryoma working for you? Really like my 21*....still loving your bag buddy!
-
Thanks!
I really like the ryoma for the distance but it is also launching the ball easily (with some low loft hybrid/utility this is sometimes a problem). I swing it deliberately very different than my onoff 21 utility (which I consider more as an extension of the iron set). With the ryoma/trpx combo a smooth swing and let the tech in the shaft and head do the work. This is also the reason I kept the trpx one star (regular flex) shaft in it.
-
I'm really happy with my SYB FC-714 5 wood. removed the red paint part as I like the monochrome black / silver color set-up in the bag.
Shaft is Tour AD SF-7 shaft in 41.5"
-
very nice set
-
My new Utility/hybrid combo
A Grind Utility Proto #3 (19.5) with Attas EZ350 85s
A Grind Hybrid #4 (23) with Attas 10s
-
Those are sweet but that driver needs to go. Your bag is too good for that driver...the other clubs look down on it...
Still have that 18* ryoma ute? Pm me if avail...
-
Sorry sold it to pay for the a grinds :(
Yes the driver.... Keep looking for a JDM solution but the Ping is treating me well.
I had a bad time with drivers and reluctant to change (but don't worry the JDM ho in me will win eventually)
-
I have the perfect driver for you and it's got a beautiful black ip finish...not gonna spoil it for your witb thread but will send some pics. It's currently paired w its optimal shaft.
-
Thanks - will put in the list with the other drivers I keep staring at
-
To sum the new acquisitions in a pic
Driver: I know, I know.... But you have to admit Ping makes fabulous drivers.
FW: --- (don't ask)
Utility/hybrid: as already posted before. This is awesome combo. Couldn't be more happy.
Irons: keeper
Wedges: 48 kept the Labospec. A Grinds (52/58) IMHO the best looking wedges out there.
Putter: Futura X5 is keeper as well.
-
Driver: sorry it’s still the Ping (boring I know but with little imagination it’s the new PRGR RS Driver …)
FW: gave myself a last chance and so far it works out nice.
Utility/hybrid: like the A Grind Proto very much but the ONOFF utility I find more versatile. Fell in love with all black finish of the A Grinds so changed to the Kuro.
Now the top of the bag looks nice in black with some accents in red (same as the new bag)
Irons: Changed shafts from the NS Pro to DG S200 and also went back to the 2011 forged (not much difference to the 2013 in play but I liked the simpler look of the 2011)
Wedges: These are staying. The best wedges I ever played
Bag: as I only play with 12 clubs I wanted a slightly smaller and lighter bag. This is from their Labospec line.
-
Good show San! The a-grinds are indeed good. I love them too... shameless plug, I've got a couple of super hot DAT55 face driver heads in the BST... ::) ;D
-
Thanks. Will give it a look.
Now that all other clubs are settled (at least for some time) I can start concentrating on the Driver ...
My eyes are wandering to the A Grind Driver. Wondering if it's difficult to handle ...
-
Reunited with an old friend. Shouldn't have sold it. When I saw it recently in good condition with the original Ryoma AD shaft in S-flex I didn't think very long and just bought in the spot.
was using it today on tight par 4's from the tee. It is eerie how long it goes.
-
Since my last update the biggest change is top and bottom of the bag. Focus is to bring the score down so everthing that works best is in the bag. (A Grind ut iron: put in a DG S200shaft to be bring the ball flight down)
The Driver ... Finally back to JDM.
Baldo VT811 with Speeder Evolution II shaft (44.75")
Better distance with same forgivness as my PING G25 and much better feel at impact. Also like the silver/black (Art Deco kind of) design.
-
Busy with work and family not much time for practice. So I put together a more forgiving bag.
Driver: currently a PING G driver (wouldn’t dare to take off the head cover in this forum). Looking and trying out various JDM new and old but haven’t found one I really like yet.
Hybrid/UT’s: For me the best in class (forgiveness, design, looks) are…
18: Freiheit the-G 2 hybrid with Attas HY350 75
21: JBeam TF-Ti UT 4 with Attas EZ350 95
Irons/Wedges:
Needed the forgiveness and wanted the extra yardage.
Epon AF-701 with NS Pro Modus 3 120: 5i – PW+AW
I followed Freehd’s advice put in the irons set AW and this is making approach shots really easy. Not the sexiest looking wedge but it works. Also helps with the gapping to the PW.
SW: Razzle/Dazzle CS-01W Dynamic Gold.
Bounce is your friend … I really like this wedge
Putter: One-Off. I made some comments already in the putter section. This is point and shoot. Never been better with my putting.
-
Very nice! How's the size of the freigheight to the ryoma?
-
Just looking at the figures: Ryoma 140cc vs Freiheit 135cc there isn’t that much difference but the Freiheit looks much smaller/ hides the size (especially at address).
Sorry cannot make a comparison pic as I already sold the Ryoma (it’s the 3rd time ... how crazy is that)
-
Haha, yeah...at least you're able to sell it...mi e have been sitting for a long time, take the out when I go off the rails and think they should be gamers but always Roddio right back in the fwy/ute slot...
Cool bag san! Hope u get more time to play!
-
Completed my forgiving bag ...
-
Updated irons / wedge
Wanted to keep it forgiving but less chunky
G-CB irons are shafted with OT tour iron 100.
Kept DG S200 in the wedges.
-
Great looking set.
-
Nice AGrind setup!
-
Thanks
-
Small updates on my bag.
Driver: somehow a Ping keeps sneaking up in my bag...
FW: using it more or less from the T only -> deep face and the missing crown which helps at address
UT: tried out so many but always come back to the type-d A grind’s
-
Nice... that Ping really .... sticks out... lol
What putter is that?
-
It is still the One-Off putter posted before.
If I like a putter and keep it for quite some time.
-
Cool bag sanander...
-
Thanks
-
Still hardly having time to see some actual golf courses and when I do it shows in my score card. Needed some more forgiving irons and also wanted to test some roddio iron shafts so when I saw a used set of onoff labospec irons shafted with roddio i-9 didn’t think too long and bought them. These are long and super forgiving with good feel.
Roddio Hybrid UT with Stella 8 shaft I bought yesterday just have it tested on the range also very long let’s see how it will behave on the course.
Driver is again a Ping – keep testing some JDM drivers but always come back to Ping. But what makes that driver really work is the shaft. Fujikura SLK shaft – a shaft developed for short length. It’s 44.25” at D3 (no extra weight needed to get it there). This combo is a fairway finder. Still like the Baldo Brassy but don’t see it coming back into the bag…
-
Nice setup!
-
Also thinking about the hybrid ut , how would you compare it to the a-grind ?
-
I could game that set up. I've never heard of that SLK shaft. Research time.....
-
@hacker: thanks
@stefbase: only one range session but first impression: like the feel / sound of the A Grind better (but would n’t say the roddio is bad - acutally liked it) the roddio is long even considering it is 21 hybrid (the 18 must be distance monster)
@ Ian: all the info on the SLK I saw so far was from Japanese sights only. when I have time will post a longer comment
-
Nice bag again Sanader, I've heard good things about the SLK.
