Title: Shacco's bag
Post by: Shacco on June 20, 2015, 05:53:25 PM
I promised to do a WITB once I receive the driver.
I have been rather quiet in the equipment area this this year. With The birth of our second child and less and less time for golf, I had different priorities. And I was generally happy with my bag with one exception. And this was the Ryoma ute. Never figured it out somehow but stuck with it because of the great things I heard about it. But eventually I gave up and there I was in the search of a new ute. This is when I stumbled across the Romaro I-Brid Chapter 2. This purchase triggered a few more.
So here is my bag for the summer:

Driver: JBeam ZY-11 white, 10* loft, square FA, NS Pro Regio Formula 55S
3 Wood: JBeam BM-FX HG FW, 15* loft, Crazy LY-02 stiff
3 Hybrid: Romaro I-brid Chapter2, 19* loft, UST Mamiya Attas HY350 75S
4 Hybrid: Romaro I-brid Chapter2, 22* loft, Fujikura MCI80S
5-PW: 2011 Onoff Forged, NS Pro GH950 stiff
GW: 52* Epon copper KGX208, NS Pro GH950 stiff
SW: 56* Yamaha InpresX (2007), NS Pro GH950 stiff
LW: 60* Yamaha InpresX (2007), NS Pro GH1050 stiff
Putter: TaylorMade Ghost Tour MA-81

Cool bag Shac-meister!  The look of that ZY-11 is really coming on to me.  Thanks for sharing the info as well.

New 3W going into the bag for testing. Jbeam BM TI FW with a Roddio W6-WA stiff (thanks Ian for the shaft). Bought the head actually already a while ago but never actually got to shaft it up.
New shaft for my ZY-11. Fujikura Speeder Evolution II 661. Very cool looking shaft.

3w looks great buddy.  So does that driver, let us know how that speeder shaft goes.  I think you'll like that Roddio shaft...I did in any case...

Not the first adventure with Roddio shafts. Actually my very first JDM shaft was a W6-BA which I have very good memories with. Let's see how the W6-WA is.

Thanks, D.
I am spending X-mas at my sister's in Amsterdam. Brought the driver and the 3W just in case I could sneak out to hit a few balls at a range near by. Well, Managed to do just that today. Could only hit the 3W as the range had no Tees. But I must say the JBeam BM TI FW is awesome. So easy to hit. The range rocks were aweful. Really bad range balls so I won't comment on distance. But the 3w was so easy to hit. Hit one starting right and it turned back to target. Hit one starting left and it faded back to target. Love it. This is going straight into the bag.

If you cannot play , there is a great rock bar in amsterdam that I really like , the water hole .

Another great bag! nice to see some movement in the WITB section.

Can you give some comments regarding the iBrid Chap2 in 19.

easy to launch off the deck? (rough/fairway)

by the way what's the length of your shaft?

Chapter2 hybrids are very good. I have no issues launching it off the deck even with the deeper face which I personally prefer. I use it from the tee and off the deck equally with no issues. When I first got it a while ago, I thought that it is solid but not too long. But actually these are plenty long.

When you are asking about the length of my shaft, I assume you are referring to the shafts in my clubs  ;D
Driver is 45" or slightly below. Never play it longer.
3w is 42.5"
3ute is 40" (I think, can't really remember)
4ute is 39.5" (I think, can't really remember)
Irons are Onoff standard spec

:)

What made you think it is longer than your initial impression? (and I'm still speaking about the iBrid ...)

Title: Re: Shacco's bag
Post by: MBBG on September 08, 2016, 10:13:53 PM
I've long wanted to get the Chapter 2 but just don't really have a place for one. The 18* hybrid and 4 iron utility slots are filled by untouchable clubs. (Type R and U45). Thought about trying a 5 iron replacement Chapter 2, but it would be weird going from Type R 18* UT, to a 22* driving iron, then back to a hybrid/DI type club at 25*, then back to a bladed 6 iron. 😁😁😁

Your are truely a wizzard with words  ;)

It was just simply the fact that I wasn't seeing the results on the range. Therefore I did not think about pulling the Chapter2 on certain distances. But once I had a shot 195 meters (about 215 yards) to the pin and just pulled my 19* and ended up just past the pin which I never thought I could reach with that club. That is plenty long for me. Sure, it is not long for others but for my standards that is good.
Ever since this is my go to club for around that distance.

Love your bag shac, some real classics that haven't really been improved upon (e.g. I had the 208 out this week and kept asking myself why I over went away from it) and some flashy new...would be delighted to play it...

Subtle changes to the bag made. Thought I'd post an update to give this section some life.
Driver: 10* Baldo Conpetizione 568 460cc shafted with Fujikura Speeder Evolution II 661
3W: 15.5* JBeam BM-TI FW shafted with Roddio W-6WA
3h: 19* Romaro iBrid Chapter 2 shafted with UST Mamyia Attas HY350 75S
4h: 22* Romaro iBrid Chapter 2 shafted with Fujikura MCI80S
5-PW: PRGR RS Forged with stock NS Pro
GW: 52* Epon KGX208 copper with NS Pro GH950
SW: 56* Yamaha InpresX Black NS Pro GH950
LW: 60* Edel DGR grind with KBS Hi-Rev
Putter: Odyssey Milled Collection #6M

Everything is pretty firmly in the bag except for the GW and SW. Might tinker around with driver shaft as well.

How do you like in combination with the Speeder Evo 2 shaft?

Nice bag set-up (seems the iBrid is a keeper)

I get a nice high launch (not too high) with it. Fairly neutral flight. Like it so far but I think I could probably go down to SR flex with my current slowish SS.

Ibrids are definitely keepers. Don't see anything replacing them anytime soon.

Nothing wrong with that. Was gonna go with a USDM driver myself, but it took too long until I had a chance to try it. So I went with the Baldo;)
The Edel LW is the surprise in the bag. Seriously, you need to try one. Bunker and chipping from anywhere near the green is like cheating with it. Not the best feel though. Wish these were forged.

No major updates. Just that the Epic Sub Zero survived the battle of the drivers. Changed the shaft to a Mitsubishi Chemicals Tensei CK Pro Orange 60S and this now really sings. Playing it at 44 3/4". The shaft is phenominal. Best driver combo I have ever had hands down. Ping LST was very good as well but just could not keep up with the fire power of the Epic SZ. This one gives me exactly the penetrating flight I am looking for.
The only spot that is still up for discussion is the 3FW. While the JBeam is very forgiving and easy to hit, I feel it is not getting the length it should. My 19į hybrid is too close in distance to it. I think I am spinning it a bit too much. Nevertheless, I still like it because it is quite reliable for my standards.

Shac, the cally drivers are good, if you find the center a lot the epic subzero will really go...it's longer than the rouge for me but oddly for a guy who finds the fairway 80% of the time they are not forgiving for me...

I was a bit wild with it in the beginning as well. But now I am really dialed in. I don't feel it is a demanding driver at all. I think it has something to do with shaft and just the fact that I improved my swing over the winter. I am telling you, this Pro Orange shaft is really good. It is so tip stable that when you mishit it you don't feel like the face twists on you. But it does all that while still having tons of feel. I believe it has a soft butt section which gives some softness to the overall feel. It's tough to describe. I have never hit any shaft that feels like that.

New 3W in the bag. Replacing the Jbeam. Kamui TP-XF 3W with a Tensei Pro White 60S. Everything else unchanged and honestly I donít see the setup changing anytime soon. The 3W was the last piece of the puzzle. Super happy with the set up.

I'm really surprised the PRGR irons don't get more attention. They are really good and feel great and the sole works great. But do not mistake them for blades. If you are looking for MBs/blades I think these are not for you.
