bag is almost done.
just waiting on a reshaft for my
driving iron will put a SP blue in stiff.

bolds are not here yet. can't wait to see if they
will come close to challenging my pings.

syard xv 3w is the real deal. especially with the real
deal ozik, none of the By you shafts!

Thats a long way away.
May go back to my trusty yamaha iff4w

well the bags changed again.

Driver: SYARD T388 10.5 z9003-7S
4w YAMAHA IFF OZIK FM82
21* SAQRA inb DI spb
4-pw Epon 503 Nippon SPB-s
50/54 Syd Bold nspo wv125
59 Onoff Shingo spec DG spinner
Johhny-san SS anser tuned by GF

Have added a syard t388 to the mix but have retained the Epon as 1st draft back up.
the 3w is gone and back is the IFF with the heavy head. glad i kept this one as its
just so easy to use. one of the best if not the best club I've kept, thats why i never sold it.

hopefully new epon goodies down the road will contribute to bag changes!

well finally can post these. bag is finally complete. i have two drivers for now
marpat TJ46 8.1 and 153 757.
i am thinking of swapping the shafts to get that splinter of my mind.

only thing I'm pondering is shafts on my irons. love the blues but that idle set of MCI 120s are taunting me!
did not shaft up the 3i.

i can do that to my demo 7 iron. have one in the bag.
having tried the spb set in the range yesterday i am quite happy.
but the matted ranges have a false sense of security so testing them out
on the course today.

425 Camo Fuji 757
Epon 203 15* Fuji Rombax P95
Epon 203 18* Fuji Rombax P95
Epon SUS316 #3 Nspro SPO
Epon SUS316 4-PW Nspro SPB
52/58 Epon 213 STX Nspro WV125
Shinagawa Johnny tuned by GF

ditched my 153 for now. the 8.1 was cPming close to 280
while the 757 is a comfy 262. world of difference.

the 3i is also built with SPO. pics in a bit

C,

How's the 316 compared to the 301 and Technica Pro I offset wise, forgiveness wise and feel wise as the 316 is from different steel from what I gather?  I think the 316 are stronger lofted so no doubt these will go further iron for iron?

Yesh, sick bag c!  Wish I could hit a 3i....what's you hcap these days?

well 3 is gone. sold it bec it was only good for off the tee and hit it good from theFW
30% of the time. Yet those feel good 30% of the time makes me wanna game it. nothing
feels as good as puring a long iron. i have stuck my 903 back in the bag and bent it 2* upright
per experience of steve and am hitting it much better. then again i am finding this slot in the bag
redundant as of late.

play to a 9 right now from the blues.

C,

How's the 316 compared to the 301 and Technica Pro I offset wise, forgiveness wise and feel wise as the 316 is from different steel from what I gather?  I think the 316 are stronger lofted so no doubt these will go further iron for iron?

offset wise i think this is less offset than the irons mentioned and with a thinner top line. heel to toe seems longer
although i have not measured it exactly. and YES these are definitely firmer feeling than the AF offerings of Epon. a tad
al dente more similar to the yamaha irons. forgiveness wise no different compared to the 302.

loft for loft these are almost identical to the 302s. the 45* spec pw in Epon website is a typo. i think iron for iron
the distances are about the same, shaft will play crucial role more than the head.

I just took a look at an unshafted 4-PW set of 316... Not much hosel offset and rather short hosels... They look really nice.  Will get my hands on a demo.  This could be the set to take me back to Epon...

316s would make me go back to Epon as well if I had the cash.

153 10.5 with diamana w series 7s. ( prefer this combo more than the 757 due to the higher launch aspect of the shaft)
203 15 reshafted with nspro 850 fw ( works very well not as long as graphite but i find it more forgiving and softer which i like in my wood)
203 18 nspro 950 fw. much more forgiving than my P95 even though weights almost identical.

everything else is the same was supposed to reshaft my SPB into modus 120s for lighter weight but i put that on hold
as the spb are just so sublime
Title: Re: Deadly Jellyfish's bag for 2014
Post by: spoon on June 19, 2014, 02:10:48 AM
well changed again as of JUNE 19

Did a couple of changes after my club champ and decided to go back to what I'm comfortable with.
i fair better with one wood as opposed to two! and driving irons as straight as they go will never quite
be as forgiving as a driving iron.

so the new bag which will be fully built by the time i get back from my vacation will be:

Epon 380 technicity Diamana w70
Yamaha 4w 16.5
Adams Pnt 18* nspro 950fws
Epon sus 316 4-pw Modus 120s
Epon 52/58 213stx wv125
GS Monoline 2

pics to follow

well its one of my all time favourite drivers, i really should have kept my old one glad to have found a replacement.
just realising the head is so heavy playing my cut down diamana w series 70s and still playing at d5 44.75

very promising. i pulled the diamana W70 shaft as i could not sustain swinging
that hard every single drive. the BB6 might be better suited due to the weight.
this is very similar in profile to the W70 in a lighter package.

the shaft is a gem in my yamaha 405d. then again most shafts in this head work fine.
i think a higher launching shaft lower kick point would suit the head much better.

That 903 looks more forgiving in your pics than the mktg pics I saw, how does it compre to the 901?

Thanks for sharing c!

the 504dj is the new driver indeed, just haven't gamed it due to a shaft error. will be gaming it soon enough though just back to my trusty yam 405d that has spent its entire life being taken for granted, booted out, neglected replaced and back as favourite big dog. if only it could talk.

the 903 is a gem. i am a driving iron guy i love this club. i don't game it because its an Epon but because it works. i have tinkered with all sorts of driving irons sacqra, Srixon zut/ ut , buchi, and lately the Honma which i sold. this one i like because it has some offset and complements my 503 and P2 very much. compared to the 901 this one is more for playeresque. for those that complained about the offset of the 901 this is the answer but note there is still some offset. 901 is more for the 7series user ( not the BMW car) and the 903 is more for the 3/5 series user (again NOTTTT the car)

no need to use the 903 if your not a di guy.
i on the other hand wish i could hit a real ute !
missing all the delicious utes out there

I have the 903 in a 20 degree model and C is correct it is an awesome DI. Ball flight is great with just a small cut in my swing. Have it matched with a MCI 120 stiff shaft. Compliments the 503's perfectly.
C will be interested to hear your thoughts on the new driver.

ash what a beautiful combo with the mci 120.
mine is tasty with the aerotech but i have a spare
crazy black UT that is taunting me in the corner.

its amazing how idle shafts seem to talk to you for no particular reason :o
i actually have a 903 23 head, contemplating if i should shaft it up and replace
my #4?

as for the driver will most likely have a review when i get back on 18th of november.

C
The Crazy UT maybe a really good way to go. You might be able to control the ball flight better with the UT shaft in it. The Areotech is a nice shaft and I feel works well in long irons.

well i had new toys in the bag for a bit but the Ryoma F2 experiment was disastrous.
as good as the F2 is (its fantastic) i just could not get used to the feel. feel was too crispy
hollow metallic. yes flight was amazing and LOOONG but i like to feel good to so i am back
to my trusty 202ht. I'm debating wether to shaft her with ALPHA75ax OR sigma black 50 stiff??

new additions to the bag will be:

1. ryoma u21 crazy black UT
2. Crazy f19 FW80 7.4

the two will have a battle royale and will have a spot as a main 5w. hearing good things
about the ryoma and they all say its bloody long. just hope it doesn't feel like their woods.

also reshafting my wedges with FUJI MCI 120 8 iron shafts. my aerotech player spec wedge shafts
are a bit stiff and loosing feel in anything but full shots.

for drivers i have two new ones coming. will have pics soon.

The Ryoma can be loooong but can also be disastrous for some. I have experienced both  ;D
Feel is.... subjective  :P I will leave it at that.

Ryoma sucks feel and sound wise but most of their products flat perform...very long and forgiving...the u21 should be as long as a 5w...it's as big as one...it's slightly better than the fwys...I just could stand those monstrosities.

Glad to see you back to the greatest fwy head ever made (3HT)!  Surprised that head doesn't get more love, best feeling / sounding fwy head ever...not the longest but looks pretty good and it feels better than a  beautiful amorous virgin...plus it's awesome off the deck

Keep up the hoing c, you're a role model to all the young ho's out there...

FREE, to be honest ryoma doesn't flat out perform for me, none of their drivers did it for me including the premia, d spec and v, the maxima is better
but I'm not getting the forgiveness factor that people rave about. i much prefer the Jbeam 435, now this one is a gem i should have never parted with.
back to ryoma the f2 and f3 are decent i just could not get used to the feel. i akin it to a cat being electrocuted at impact but smiled once it saw the ball soaring. but i give premium to feel so willing to sacrifice on distance. also sound is very important. dint care for it.

i hope the u21 despite the size works better and feels more robust that the tinny FW woods.
i have strayed a lot in recent days like the walking dead finding victim upon victim to prey on but no woods cut it.
i would say after $$$$ spent in this sub category, the best to date was an el cheapo IFF 17* that was something special.
the 202 ht NOT THE deep one is truly the best. easy and feels good.

4-58 is stable. driver well have heaps coming to test.
my iron shafts Players spec may be going soon. want to give recoils a shot.

i ordered a couple of mci 120 8 iron shafts for more feel around the greens.

Haha, cat being electrocuted is a great analogy.  The sound is improving (maxima a bit better) but is still horrible when compared to epon.  I liked the distance on their fwys but after looking at them and hitting them for a couple rounds...well...they are kinda like an ugly big girl who's goodin the sack but irritating...eventually you're thinking why am I doing this it's just not worth it...I wasted a TON of $ on fwys just to confirm that the EPON HT can't be beat...should never have sold my backup...

Ryoma driver I think is made for the low to mid 90s swinger...on the rare occasions I get my driver moving around triple digits the 103 or even technica are about as long.  Interesting using mci in wedges...am guessing the 120 will feel better than the 100....

Hahahaha you guys are bonkers.

I've gone back to s flex for the winter. With the shitty cold winter months upon us I get no run when I want to go for it with the woods, so I just go for carry distance, which the s flex seems to give me plenty. Bring on the spring baby  ;D

new for this week:

reshafting my entire set with C tapers!
5-pw will have c taper SSX1 and 4 iron will have a crazy c taper #3 iron shaft

pulling my crazy ut black from my 20* 903 and going back to steel nspro 110s

wedges are C taper as well. MCI 120 will take a back seat.

driverless for now as my BB6s experiment was horrendous. don't know wether its the weight or flex
but have never consistently hooked so much with this shaft.

well the p2s are benched for now. playing a lot of comps and its club champ season
so i need the most forgiving set i can play which surprisingly the 703. yes those darned
shovel looking things. i have them shafted with c taper 120 ssx1 and its alright. i am going to
reshaft them with modus 120 stiffs in a couple of weeks.

the 903 20 is now gone which was replaced by the on off 21 roddio combo

so for now its

they are basically for to 9 iron:)  love the forgiveness
feel is a departure from the traditional Epon feel but my scores
arent complaining.

was contemplating the shift to modus 120 but the SSX1 c tapers are real
nice. good match for the HL heads. if ever i may get a 47/48* wedge and
have a 47/48, 54 or 56 and 60 setup

Nice looking setup C.

Interesting you found the GD BB to want to hook too. I don't know what it is about GD shafts but I don't get along with any of the ones I've tried.

Good luck with your competitions hopefully the 703s help a little bit over the P2

This MT7 is up my alley and is among my favorites

Lol, you need to chronicle all the gear you've bought back...a boomeranged thread...

That's some club head speed with the ctapers....it could be the Attas 10s but I was surprised at how strong the trajectory with the 303 is given the target for these heads.  Not complaining as is a very controllable flight just a bit surprised.  The more time I have with these, the more surprised I become.  They really are an enigma.

i like the 20* a lot as its more player oriented than the 902. also deeper
face as well. haven't gamed the 23* as i am hitting my 303 4 iron quite well.

if the 20* behaves as well as it does now in a couple of weeks i may opt to keep

something was quite off with the aftermarket shaft. i also
took this time to use my special salty grip with my daughters

as these grips are good for only one install, i decided to put it in
the zen as it will be a main gamer that likely won't be sold.
haven't gamed her yet but feels better and a whole lot lighter
than how she was with the aftermarket shaft.

then salty is for you, you can fine tune the coarseness of the grip by sanding it with 200/100 grit sandpaper.

3w. Sold the f2 and crazy f14.  Golf is supposed to be easy and back
To my trusty HT. these are one of the only clubs I've kept long term
Surprisingly the bi matrix 70s is one beautiful ahaft. Nice weight and extremely
Stable. Very very hard to describe unless u have hit one. Feels like a steel stinger!

No Utes for now have a big gap next club is #4 iron
Still gaming the 303s with modus 130 although I might flirt with the 105/st
When they are out in a week or two. Can't complain about the 130 though perfect
Shafts for me.

Still gaming my sdj 51/56 Shingo 59
Combos although have new wedges coming(hehe secret prototypes)
And voila the zen. Pulling the damn salty and going to a tour wrap grip master

Oh I wish I could find a 901 22. Feel I like this more than the 903 by a mile!

Woods ( until I find something easier than the HT)
Wedges : possible

504DJ coming back and will reshaft with AJAPA 6S.
Also have a premia 10.5 with diamana x 70s. the two drivers will battle it out.
as strange as it seems been using a titty 913 driver from eons ago for the time being.

the 3w has never been more used this time of the year. use the HT  a lot from the tee box without
a tee and can hit down like an iron. such a pleasure to use this club.

also have the 202 5w with bi matrix and driving iron 22 bent to 21 with OT95. seriously i love both clubs
and nothing feels as good as driving irons, i have given up on the UTE route. id ideally like to keep both clubs
but that means dropping a wedge. right now I'm gaming 50/56/59

the zen putter is out. have been putting terribly with her lately.

C, how is the OT in that di?

i couldn't putt w the zen ever...maybe give mallets a try, that shin is fantastic for me...

I've gone to 2 wedges (52&58) don't miss the extra wedge at all and like having the extra fwy and ute options as I've often got them in on the long par 4s...

hey free the OT to be honest feels nothing special but the performance can't be denied. for its weight it feels
heavier than nspro 950. i like the paint scheme, satin steel like. i can even imagine this in a hybrid ala roddio i8/i9
so far so good. i expected though to be blown away by the marshmallow feel like the roddios.

yeah I'm shopping around for a putter, may just stick to what i have which is the golds modified shinagawa putter.

for wedges I'm perfectly happy with my ping anser wedge 50 and ping w tour wedge 56 and 59 shingo.
these are my dads wedges and honestly ping makes some of the best wedges!

C, since you play Ping may I recommend the Ping Ketch putters. I use the counter balanced mallet and I swear that I have come down four strokes because I putt so well with it.
All the best.

Why no golf C?  I haven't played now for three weeks and I'm ready to go postal on my family....

No golf as I was mentally burnt out. Swing chaos thoughts and equipment
Overload got the better of me. Took a hiatus that I'm so glad I took now I'm back
With confidence and a improved swing. 703s are very helpful in this stage of golf.
No more egos! My wedges are all ping that worked. 3w -5i. Haha

Il have pics soon. Lotsa good reviews of the 105 il let those guys review it. The black gorilla is a tasty
Wedge deadly accurate from the bunker and from 70 yards in

well bag has changed but one thing that hasn't is the irons 703s living the life and
am enjoying my irons a game. was tempted to shift to p2 but dropped that pipe dream
in favour of better golf.

have had a multitude of drivers since january, ZY-11, 105, 435 BLACK, and most recently a grandista which i
am waiting to hit. have paired her with a matching evo2 shaft.

the bag is

Driver: Grandista 9.5 EVO2 661S
3W: Epon 205 15* EVO2 FW70s
Ryoma U21 Ryoma GD stiff
Epon 703 5-pw 950 stiff
Ping anser forged 50 dg spinner
ping w tour ping at steel
Epon 208 60* KBS hi rev
Tad moore putter.

only thing changing is when the new epon wedges come out in august. pictures soon.
have the epon 205 5w but with my ryoma u21 don't think il need it.

+1 on the 703, what a great iron head, they just work and they're not bad to look at...

Anxiously awaiting pics and review of the 205...

Driver: EPON 105 10* Diamana S+ 60s
3W: Epon 205 15* EVO2 FW70s
Ryoma U21 Ryoma GD stiff
Epon 703 5-pw Modus 130s
Epon tour wedge 50/56/60
Gfield Leap M

well i just got my old Epon 105 back and reshafted her with a diamana S+. ball flight is more stable with this shaft Vs the ajapa matrix which i found a tad soft. i currently rotate between this one and ajapa matrix ALTHOUGH i am loving the epon more due to its non adjustable nature and softer face. ajapa and epon seem to be at par while the ajapa certainly gets more height and roll. distance ----ajapa, forgiveness------same, feel---------epon

also reshafted my 703 FROM nspro 950 into modus 2g18 proto which is the modus 130. nothing really i just wanted to change haha. the modus 130 is my far my favourite nippon shaft, love the feel and kick, actually gained half a club moving up to 130. its been 1 year since i last gamed these in the 303 so i soft stepped 1x and wow what a difference, nice and high and a flat carry that lands soft.

only thing left to talk about are the tour wedges in 50/56/60. i opted for modus 125 iron iron shaft 8i to be exact in the wedges, wanted a different shaft than the wedge shafts as i did not enjoy those at all will post feedback and pics soon as global release date is close at hand.

and a blast from the past my 9 year old Gfield leap M is in the bag yet again. one of the best retro mallets i have owned.these were el primo at the time and more so now than ever. you guys should go back to your JDM roots and try to snag some g-filed putters. basically Sasaya designed and tuned lol

short question regarding the gap between the Ryoma UT and the 5 iron. Do you see a big(ger) gap?

There is a gap BUT I can hit the 5i around 190-195
And my ryoma 215-220. I don't see myself in many situations
Wherein I need to attack a green from 200-215 so I dint think
Much of It. I used to have my gaps covered to an OC level now

Another tremendous bag c, always interesting but looks like you're going for scores which has been fun for me as well.  Those ryoma utes are big ugly brutes but they're so long and forgiving I just can't kick me out....

I'm very interested in your thoughts on the tour wedges.  Are they as forgiving as the 213?  What's the feel and spin like in comparison?

Thanks for the pics bro..

well shit the quadras had 2-3 range sessions and two rounds before i decided they weren't for me.
the feel was superb, everything was ok except i found that i tended to thin shots with it more than
anything. wasn't the weight, or swing weight as thats been sorted via building don't know what it
was to be honest. rather than adapt to it i went back to my modus default shafts.

this time went modus 105 stiff! 5-pw

New for December. Going for forgiveness and what's in my bag
Iron wise and wedges putter are close to perfect for now.  I've had
The 703s for a long long time now and am settling down with the modus
105. By far my favorite shafts.

Dropped the 50* tour wedge in favor of a 48 to close the gap between
My pw. Also did a fitting which I haven't done with these irons and I'm 2*
Upright and around 1.5* with the wedges. Nothing wrong with the old setup but
I had a consistent fade now I have a straight ball to draw. Don't know if this is the swing
Or the lie change or a combo of both but will play a couple of rounds to gauge results

Best thing I could have done was reshaft the mystery from UT100 into a GDut70
It's night and day and the combo is now super friendly. Loving it so far. The fex ut100
Ended up in my 903 23 playing at 39.5 D7. It's longer than standard spec by .5-.75 but
Did not butt trim as I wanted to test combo. It's well suited much more than the original
Modus 105. Got the height back

Only thing aside from the driver front is the 4w. Not liking the b80s. Might go back to a 70gram FW shaft. No driver for now.

I'd play that set any day!  Brilliant shuffling ther, I love it when components from good clubs are swapped to make great...

The forgiveness rout is a blast...makes playing well and getting drunk so much easier!  Even though I'm loving the P3 I really miss the 703.  It's such a great head in many ways...

hyrbids: 18/21/24 with basileues 80Gram UT
Irons epon 705 modus 105 5-aw
wedges 54/58 modus 125

the woods are getting rehsafted with FEX PROTO 75FW and Diamana x 70s.
really excited for the new builds.

by the way the super egg fw is the prettiest club I've seen. check out the face its Huge and bulbous!

Ok so I reshafted my super egg with another shaft having tried 4 different shafts
Was about to junk the combo until I tried this shaft. Other previous shafts you would
Have to alter swing tempo etc just to make the club work. With this shaft you can just swing normal
And he ball just pops. Forgot how good these shafts are. This is my first dedicated fire express FW shaft.

Head was so light had to add around 15-18 grams of lead tape on the channels. No worries if I need to remove the tape for aesthetic reasons il bore the hosel and insert some weights for a cleaner look

I'm going to re-shaft my old trusty Yamaha 405D. this was the driver i was using back in 2007 when i first started playing golf.
its probably the oldest club in my arsenal and wisely haven't even contemplated selling. I've had monster drives with this little
puppy and probably need all the carry now that i play in a tight course that puts a premium on being in the fairway.

am shafting her with a DOA MY65 shaft.
will duke it out with a tm BURNER TP old school w CB 50 7.7

i also officially am pulling my super egg spoon from my bag. its great off the tee but i prefer my FD driver 12.8 as an alternate driver.
from the fairway its a beast but a bit too long for my home course where all it takes is 18* ute. the bag is yet going to change.

will be getting a Gfield 4w 17* which is surprisingly the same head i used in conjunction with my yamaha 405d when i was starting out. unfortunately like
all my clubs sold them a long time ago.

i use the 27* for shots from 170-190 depending on the distance needed i just choke down and adjust swing.
my 6 iron is 175 but only when i hit it pure. 7 iron iron is my 160ish yard club.

nope I'm removing them sooner, i taped it because i hit from the other side of the range where the bunkers are. the turf is very very sandy.

I agree. Had the 21/24 roddio combo sold it and regretted it.
Vowed to get the complete set now that I have it I will keep it ha!
The 18 is very very easy to hit off the deck I use it instead of a 3w. The 21/24 are great. The 27 I'm

pulled out the 27* utility and put back the 6iron.
the 27 I'm having fits all shots are pushing right. almost
like i can't turn the club over. this is a prospec model
and am wondering why the 18/21/24 type s models
i can easily draw. no righties! weird. i may try to swap
the shaft into a heavy graphite. thats the only thing
i plan to do with it.

the ryoma f3 did not make the cut. the FEX 75S proto
was not suited to the head. i may opt to try something else.
deciding between the roddio spoon and the RC X7.

for now i am going to game my Burner tp tour from way back

did a shootout in the range

- TP burner 9.5 crazy SX 7.7

as expected the ball flight was very low and shaft super stiff for me already. no way can i swing this without
throwing the kitchen sink. flight was nice and piercing as expected but loosing too much distance because of the
trajectory. may still salvage the shaft and place in a fairway driver. feel is terrible. usdm has gone a long way since
these type of heads. makes the crazy 435 and all its counterparts feel like a tasty strawberry.

- Epon 105 10.5 custom .5 open 203 grams head + basileus AAA 65s 45.25 d2

well as much as i expected this combo to work(had the perfect specs on paper) it just did not cut it. i was constantly
too low. even good pure shots were going very low with lots of roll. i put a premium on carry and this is not it. was loosing
massive yardage against the yamaha which is just all carry. i reckon its the shaft as this head with a dead or alive shaft is just
magical!

hmmm im speechless, dunno but the basileus AAA is not what i expected it to be. terrible experience so far. shaft for shaft i think
the diamana x and my doa m65 blows it away. don't know what to do:(

- Yamaha 405D 10* DOA M65s

dont know why this combo works??? virtually every shaft i stuck into this head has just worked. p9003 , diamana x etc etc and now
this dead or alive shaft. its ultra flexible but not soft. i reckon it to be the combo. just easy to hit, probably has way more spin than id
like but thats why its so forgiving, hardly get any roll but its dead straight and consistent. Jbeam 435, zy-7, zy-11, grandista 1 and 2
masda, ryoma super tuning , trpx d and s, ping g400 have all fallen to this lowly 50$ driver that is circa 2001. damn!!!

I'm going to blue print this combo and get the particulars of true loft, cpm, kick point etc etc and will try to build another branded one
with similar specs!

finally going to shaft the 705s. the 703s have gone on to my wife.
i am shafting 6-pw with Arts' fex 90 and the Aw is currently shafted
with a OT105.

the bag is slowly getting built. have gotten injured and been doing therapy
for a torn groin/hammy muscle from inadequate warm up and stretching doing
heavy squats in the gym. im much better now and swing has also improved and simplified.
building a smarter set to reflect my age and playing ability. no more machismo bomb and gouge
sets for me.

the drivers are having a battle royale. G400 FEX65 VS 155 DOA 65S.
the 155 is going to have  a hard time if its going to be gamed. had a brief session with
it and had some potential but will really put it up to its paces this week when i play my tight home course.

currently i have e18-27* hybrids which are getting a serious overhaul and reboot.
18 and 27 are gone having been replaced by SYARD XV 5w with diamana x 70s and epon 901 25* with fex dgl 90!

i still have the 21/24 with basi 80s but i have a feeling both will be replaced with an epon 901 22* roddio i8.
the driving irons are not as high launching or long but i have more confidence in them than hybrids. hybrids are hit
and miss, yes il hit that nice high towering shot that lands softly 1-2x a round but forget the half dozen times i hook it left
or mishit it.

bag should be complete by the end of the week, pics soon.

Nice!  That's a bag I'd want to play, jealous u got those shafts...should have jumped when they came up...

I predict the 155 will crush the G400...155 is a real classic IMO...thx for sharing, post pics when your done...

had the chance to hit the fexDGL90 in the range today.
i was thinning shots for the first 5mins. i was worried big time!
after i figured the shaft i realised that its like no other shaft i have
ever gamed.

first its not a relaxing shaft to hit but not unforgiving either. its a shaft
that will disappoint you on a sleepy sunday round while having a couple
of beers. i observed that in order to make the shaft work you have to absolutely
need commit to the shot. if you back off your in trouble. the shaft doesnt give you
any help but if you are able to execute you will hit shots that are towering and very
very tight dispersion!

this edges out OT, MCI, RODDIO, Atttas etc. but is also the most demanding. i think my stiff
feels like an Sx at the very least. i love it though!

i hope ive made sense

Never liked the FEX color scheme, but this one looks alright with the red grips.

They are ok just Not in iron shafts. They should follow the likes of fuji/OT/ recoils
To make them subtle amd steel like

Nice C.  You should now get the Muziik Pt135 putter shaft in red and white to match!

I guess your ego takes over again C and always play shafts that are stiffer and heavier than needs to be.  IMO, shafts would be forgiving, long and relatively tight in dispersion.  It shouldn't be demanding as you make it out to be.  I have MCI, Roddio and Fire Express I-Spirit and still think Roddio is best all around.

Never tinkered with putter shafts although I would like to try one. However I game a gfield leap M that has a double Bend putter shaft.  :(

You are right! I think losing the ego is the best golf upgrade I can do. Costs nothing too!
I’m liking the DGL90s a lot. Love the color scheme of the the fex I spirits. Seen them in the flesh live
The grey color scheme. Wish I hadn’t moved my roddio i10 those were nice now so hard to find!

155 did not make it to the bag. loved the feel and the performance i just wish face angle was to my desired spec. right now its square
and i play a slightly closed driver like the g400 set to 10.25! i think the 155i would be more suited to me!

the only AMG i absolutely want is a G63 with a brabus widestar body kit. one day!

right now the bag is slowly coming along nicely. the graphite shafts are working well but my tempo
is absolutely crucial unlike steel where i can get away with half assed swings.

ditching my 3w as i find it too shallow. 5w is the 2nd in command.

have a tournament on monday the 11th and will ditch 22* 901 for a 24* onoff type S.

i think im going to get full time into golf again and try to play to my handicap!

what ive learned over the last few weeks is just confirmation of what i have known for years.
that i hit driving irons and any iron type utility better than hybrids. i have been doing the hybrid
circuit for years, sometimes i can hit them sometimes i cant but the general observation ive made
over the years is that when i am playing super well i can hit them. when i am having a slump playing mediocre
i hit them soso.

unlike driving irons i can hit them super well on a soso day with about a club less than the comparable hybrid but they
are dead straight and consistent. dont know why but i guess that this club really works for some people. there has been a
resurgence in driving irons lately. the new ping g crossover, pxg x, TM UDI sally etc etc the driving irons are back!

my bag will be looking like this in a couple of weeks.

driver, 4 wood, 2/4 di, 6-aw, 54 58 64 and putter.

What are you going to do with a 64* wedge?  I am just the opposite.  I can play the UT better than I can hit any DI. Have been slowing down the swing and finishing high hence less hooky on the UT.  The right side would takeover if I try to hit it hard.

i have the miura k 64 back in the bag. although high lofted it doesnt seem to play as high as the loft suggests.
i play in very fast guarded tabletop greens that put a premium on the lob soft landing shaft. i can do it with my tour 58
by opening but have lost too many shots trying to be cute that i figured a 64 degree played square to slightly open would
be less demanding. so far so good.

In that case, maybe I should put the Frog 64 back in play.  The problem with the 64* Frog is the distance out of the bunker, easy to get out but only good for short shots.

you guys should really try the Edel 60° wedge. Feels crap but it is like cheating anywhere around greens and in bunkers. Sits perfectly when opening the blade even with the high bounce.

That’s where I either use my 54/58 if the distance to pin has room for lots of run
For deep bunkers I use the 64

well i found my 19 901 shafted with CBI-80stiff and a DGL wedge 115.
The cbi could be too meaty but beggars cant be choosers , specs wise the 901 19
will have a heavier stiffer shaft than my 22 which is a 5 iron fex dgl 90 shaft.

also finally found my DGL 115 wedge which will be going into my 705 AW.
i am finally going to pull out the OTI 105 and will have a full set of FEX from 5-aw!
